Imran Ashraf Awan (born 11 September 1989) is a Pakistani actor, screenwriter, and host.[1][2]
Ashraf has been noted for his acting in television serials such as Dil Lagi (2016), Alif Allah Aur Insaan (2017–2018), and Raqs-e-Bismil (2020–2021). He is best known for portraying mentally challenged 'Bhola' in Ranjha Ranjha Kardi (2018–2019) for which he won the Best TV Actor award at the 19th Lux Style Awards.
Early and personal life
[edit]Imran Ashraf was born on September 11, 1989 in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.[3][4] His father was a banker, while the family roots lie in Sialkot, Punjab.[5][6]
In 2018, he married Kiran Ashfaq.[7] The couple has a son, Roham Ashraf.[4][7] They divorced in 2022.[8]
Career

[edit]After starring as a child in Boota from Toba Tek Singh in 1999,[9] he made his debut as an adult with Wafa Kaisi Kahan Ka Ishq in 2011, having moved to Karachi in 2010 following the failure of the family business.[10]
Further, in 2017, he appeared as a transgender person in Alif Allah Aur Insaan and won an award at the 6th Hum Awards. In 2018, he wrote the drama serial Tabeer and was nominated for Best Writer at the 7th Hum Awards.[11] In 2018, his performance as a mentally challenged Bhola in Kashif Nisar's directed Ranjha Ranjha Kardi established his career as a leading actor and earned him the Lux Style Award for Best TV Actor - Viewer's choice.[12][13]
