Beta Cancri b is a gas giant exoplanet that orbits the K-type giant Beta Cancri. Its mass is 7.8 Jupiters, it takes 1.7 years to complete one orbit of its star, and is 1.7 AU from its star. Its discovery was announced in 2014.[1]

Discovery

[edit]

In 2014 evidence was presented of a planet orbiting Beta Cancri. Using radial velocity data from repeated observations of the star, the planet is estimated to have a minimum mass of approximately 7.8 times that of Jupiter, and an orbital period of 605 days.[2]
