  • April 9: Felix Hess, Dutch illustrator, painter, etcher and comics artist (Uit Het Kladschrift van Jantje, De Wonderlijke Reis van Jan Klaassen, De Ongelooflijke Avonturen van Bram Vingerling, Uit Mijn Kladboek), dies at age 64 in concentration camp Sobibor.[20]
