Thank you Ravichandar. I am actually not new here. I used the name Iarlagab before and forgot to consolidate that under my universal account :-( Jcwf (talk) 16:20, 10 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dear Jcwf, thanks for your attention. Congratulations on your contribution on the Dutch book, there is a lot of work there. I had not noticed that my discussion was back, I had deleted it (and wrote a softer comment)(and never came back to that book), because that discussion lead to a very long and tiring dispute, that went everywhere (with more deleted discussions), up to the Reading room. Unfortunately the dispute had nothing to do with "learning Dutch", but with "supposed to be wikimanners". I appreciate your tolerance and understanding that my comment is honest, although provocative. In art we are used to hard comments, aren´t we? I even enjoy them. Please tell me, if possible, what part of Netherlands are you from? (I wanted to learn Dutch because I am considering moving there with my wife). What would be a "second best" city to live? Rotterdam or Den Haag? (I say "second best" because amsterdam was my first choice, but it is almost out of our shortlist) (rents too high... stupid reason?)(I know, for some people my second options are their first options). kind regards: ) --Ricardoramalho (talk) 12:41, 27 June 2009 (UTC) PS: I promess not to bother you too muchReply

Dear Jcwf! Thanks for the tips on Rotterdam!! (cultural programs are a vital aspect, it is interesting your view that Rdam has more of it than Adam). It has been hard to find positive comments on Rotterdam recently, I have been probably asking the wrong persons about it.
Regarding the pronunciation tool in the Dutch book, it is okay. When I click on the icon it opens the itunes... which is good for ipod transfering. Another approach to pronunciation is the system in www.merriam-webster.com it is faster, but it cannot be stored in Itunes as easily. Feel free to ask me for more help with the Dutch book anytime! The next week up to July 3 I will be quite busy writing works for my masters degree, but after that I will have more time to study the Dutch book. keep in touch! --Ricardoramalho (talk) 11:32, 28 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

language books

[edit source]

Hi Jcwf!

Thanks for writing to me. I have not been active here lately due to school but I am currently planning on some improvements in the content of Turkish book. I will return to it when I have some free time. But I really like your idea of creating a forum/discussion page for users working on language books. That would really be helpful for all of us. There are many users who are eager to write a book and have many interesting ideas but they hesitate because they feel overwhelmed by the technical side of the work (design, coding and stuff). It would be nice to have a place to exchange information. I support you suggestion with all my heart! Srhat (discusscontribs) 21:33, 17 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jcwf

Thanks for writing to me too. I agree, and it looks like we have a few other people who agree too. Any chance we can make a separate discussion page and try to start getting some active participation? Aphoneyclimber (discusscontribs) 09:49, 24 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
