Welcome
editHello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contributions so far.
If you are unfamiliar with wiki-editing, take a look at Help:How to edit a page. It is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.
These links may help you familiarize yourself with Wiktionary:
- Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
- Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
- Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
- If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.
- If you have any questions, bring them to Wiktionary:Information desk or ask me on my talk page.
- Whenever commenting on any discussion page, please sign your posts with four tildes (
~~~~
) which automatically produces your username and timestamp. - You are encouraged to add a BabelBox to your userpage to indicate your self-assessed knowledge of languages.
Enjoy your stay at Wiktionary!
Definitions
editHi, please don't use {{l|en}}
in definitions. It's used that way in some entries but it's not the standard format. —Rua (mew) 11:23, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Rua: Oh, I'm sorry. I won't use it in definitions anymore. Thank you for correcting! Pablussky (talk) 13:50, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
Spanish conjugation bot
editHey. The current page to feed Spanish bots is User:DTLHS/spanish bot requests (shortcut WT:FSB (feed Spanish bot)). --Yesyesandmaybe (talk) 09:13, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
- Otra cosa, the same bot periodically makes the forms of Spanish adjectives and nouns, so you don't need to do that either. --Yesyesandmaybe (talk) 09:15, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
- Oh, okay. Thank you. I'm still getting used to how everything works here and bots are kinda new to me. Pablussky (talk) 09:35, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
cinco
edit...por el culo te la hinco. I remember there being another number that has a similar rhyme, like "siete, en la boca te lo mete" or "seis, me lo metéis"... Can you help me out? --Kriss Barnes (talk) 20:02, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Kriss Barnes I'll try to think of it, but I can't really come up with any other right now. Pablussky (talk) 00:53, 13 August 2020 (UTC)
Rhymes
editAs we are sorting through new rhymes categories (see Category:Rhymes:Spanish), I wanted to give you a head up that we're using phonemic rather than phonetic pronunciations for rhymes. So, e.g., fotosensible goes from Rhymes:-iβle to Rhymes:-ible. Ultimateria (talk) 17:11, 12 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Ultimateria thanks for the info! --Pablussky (talk) 20:28, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
