New Guinea page edit
editI just got a message from you saying I changed a page about mountains in New Guinea...I didn't do that???!! Is there a way to find out if someone is using my IP address to make edits to wikipedia, or do something malicious? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.73.53.23 (talk) 23:10, 8 July 2019 (UTC)

Marhc
editHi Racer, seeing edits like this one make me happy because they mean I won't have to deal with this a-hole. :) Thanks for the super-fast response suppressing this vandal's edits! Nobody's ever told me if there's a long-term abuse report on this guy, but I've been keeping track of the disruptions I've experienced here. I call him the Marhc Vandal because (as you know) he often uses parenthetical edit summaries, and he often misspells March in these. If I can be of any help, lemme know. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:13, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: Hello. I've been calling him the "(2015)" vandal, but your name "Marhc Vandal" is good and maybe better. An a-hole by any other name... eh? I don't know of an LTA report as of yet. Let me know if you want me to take a more active role in monitoring his activities. Right now I have only a few of the vandal's targets watch-listed. --RacerX11 Talk to meStalk me 21:57, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
A Barnstar for your efforts

editSorry for the mistake on restoring the improper edit to the above article. I thought I was deleting it on Huggle. This was probably just a mistake but I think I will take a break since I just had another odd edit (probably vandalism by more than one person and I only caught the final one). Thanks for catching this. Donner60 (talk) 21:30, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah, no problem. It looked like you just didn't revert back far enough. I've been guilty of the same thing myself at times. It can easily happen. --RacerX11 Talk to meStalk me 21:35, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
Why You are not undoing my edits regarding K2 native name
editAlso, maybe even a short mention of the dissatisfaction some local people have towards the modern name would be OK?
Its not about satisfaction or dssatisfaction. Its about k2 Naming history. If the old name of Istanbul is Byzantium, Constantinople and Stamboul then it means dissatisfaction? No obviuously not. But its history. I am not vandalizing this article I am providing valid sources. Also in Urdu it is misspelled here. If u can read Urdu then you should know Chhoghori is written as چھوغوری not شاہگوری. I think you can't read Urdu therefore you are not understanding what I want to change. Its a matter of fact that British surveyors changed local names for masherbrum they used K1 for Chhoghori K2 and so on. But only K2 became famous due to its 2nd ranking in the world and the name used internationally. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anchan Balti (talk • contribs) 21:47, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

- @Anchan Balti: It's not just 'I'm reverting your edits', everyone is! The above comment you left is the kind of thing we have been asking of you in order to start a discussion, at the K2 talk page. My agreeing with you would resolve nothing. These changes need consensus before they can be included in the article! --RacerX11 Talk to meStalk me 21:57, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

editthe edit was good because when pluto goes in frount of neptune have it cleared any object form the kuiper belt out of its orbit the thatmeans it iss classified as a planet is in orbit around the Sun, has sufficient mass to assume hydrostatic equilibrium (a nearly round shape), and has "cleared the neighbourhood" around its orbit while it is in front of neptune — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hhih (talk • contribs) 23:58, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Hhih:. No, that is incorrect. "Pluto fails to meet the third condition, because its mass is only 0.07 times that of the mass of the other objects in its orbit (Earth's mass, by contrast, is 1.7 million times the remaining mass in its own orbit)." - from the Pluto article. --RacerX11 Talk to meStalk me 00:04, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Aptronym
editHey there, I don't know if you still watch the page, but there's a discussion at Talk:Aptronym that you may want to weigh in on. I don't know your whole wikipedia philosophy, but it seemed that you, like me, approached and used consensus in a not always strictly-defined by endless Talk Page debates with disinterested editors way, but more naturally, such as by edit summaries. A user who just happened on the page randomly it seems is now trying to shoehorn in a definition of consensus where one wasn't needed as the article had an ebb and flow of entries. Your input would be appreciated. Cheers, JesseRafe (talk) 20:42, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

- Hi! I see that this is not the first time that someone has had to remove copyright material you'd added to an article. That sort of raises the question of whether you might also have made other similar edits. Could I ask you to check through your contributions (perhaps starting with those relating to volcanoes?) to be sure that aren't any other lingering copyvios? If you do find any, please list list them here so that I can start the standard clean-up process. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:21, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
