editDear Professor I have completed deadline 3 of "Understanding Small and Big Data with Wikis" from the professor.
This is my draft Hongseong at Wikivoyage for main project individually.
Please check, Thanks.Yujin0203 (talk) 07:00, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Yujin0203 Good progress Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 06:59, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
Deadline4:CAI ZHIHANG
editDear Professor.
I am studying “Understanding Small and Big Data with Wikis” and “Media Trends and Globalization”.
This is my first draft of the sandbox link Caizzz (talk) 06:12, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Caizzz Good start. Please make sure to add references to your article. Please remember that only referenced content can be added to English Wikipedia and only such content will count for credit. The content from Chinese article that has no references needs to be referenced first before being translated. See Wikipedia:Verifiability
- In some cases you have links to Baidu content rather then Wikipedia - please make sure to fix your links. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 08:20, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
- This is my new link Caizzz (talk) 12:30, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Caizzz Good, but please check your links. Your url for reference 1 leads to Chinese Wikipedia, instead of the book in question.
- Next, if the source is in Chinese (ex. 李鹏《六四日记》), please use both the Chinese and English titles. Use Chinese title in the 'title' field, and English in the 'translated title' field. If you need help, stop by my office and I'll demonstrate how to do so. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 06:18, 8 October 2024 (UTC)
- Here is the new link Caizzz (talk) 05:25, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Caizzz Good job adding English titles, but please fix link to Wikipedia in your reference 1, it should link to the book in question. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 07:24, 11 October 2024 (UTC)
- Here is the new link Caizzz (talk) 04:54, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Caizzz I have fixed it for you. Please see how it should be done. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 01:19, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

- @Caizzz Good progress. The content from Chinese article that has no references needs to be referenced before being published. See Wikipedia:Verifiability
- Also, please add links (and Chinese title, if the source is in Chinese) to references 5, 13 and 15. If the reference is not online, please add other information that allow confirmation that the source exist (link to library catalogue entry for the position or such). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 01:44, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
- Here is the new link 5,13,15 Annotation has been completed. Caizzz (talk) 04:23, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Caizzz Good. Please replace reference 15 with a better source. Per the discussion and explanation at 1Wikipedia:BAIDU, Baidu is not allowed on Wikipedia (too many errors). Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 01:34, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- For ref 23 - is this a book? Can you add ISBNs to it and other books? Also, if it is in Chinese, it needs a Chinese title, not just English. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 01:35, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Reference 15 has been revised. The original text in reference 23 has no annotations. Here is the link Caizzz (talk) 04:20, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Caizzz Ok. Please carefully check all references one by one to ensure they have metadata information (author, title, publisher, date). Next, if the source is in Chinese (ex. 李鹏《六四日记》), please use both the Chinese and English titles. Use Chinese title in the 'title' field, and English in the 'translated title' field. If you need help, stop by my office and I'll demonstrate how to do so.
- Please correct a link to Baidu in article body in the 'Folk commemoration' section, it should link to Wikipedia instead.
- Please add references to the content that is missing them. I see many sentences and even paragraphs without a reference. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:35, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
- The Chinese title and English title have been written. The Baidu link in the folk memorial has also been replaced with a Wikipedia link. Then there are only 24 references in the original article, and I have already made 24。This is my new link Caizzz (talk) 04:39, 15 November 2024 (UTC)

- @Caizzz The references look better, but you have not fixed metadate for most, despite my request above. As such, more fixes are still needed. Reference 5 for example needs a Chinese title, date and publisher and the link is wrong - it leads to a generic table of contents that does not mention anything about the topic. Similar issues are present in other references
- What is reference 23 ("Mass media and Tiananmen square")? Is this a book? It probably needs Chinese title. All books should have ISBNs as well as information what particular page we are citing. For example, reference 6 is to a book. Which page in this book is being cited? It needs to be identified.
- As noted before, you need to ensure all your content is referenced - I still see unreferenced paragraphs. such as the one that begins with "After Hu Yaobang's death". Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 07:14, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

Deadline5:ZHANG XIAORUI
editDear Professor: I am taking two courses, "Media Trends and Globalization" and "Understanding Small Data and Big Data through Wikis."
Understanding Small and Big Data through Wikipedia: We have completed the editing Mohe
"Media Trends and Globalization": I completed the translation of all my articles in the sandbox User:Zzzxxxrrr/sandbox
Thank you for your checking. Zzzxxxrrr (talk) 04:42, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Zzzxxxrrr
- Regarding Mohe, it looks good. Please try to find and propose a new banner (see our instructions at https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/User:Hanyangprofessor2#Banners ) .
- Then please ask for review and follow the recommendations from it (see https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/User:Hanyangprofessor2#Final_review).
- Regarding your Chinese translation to English, about the diary, please proofread it carefully (you can use AI or tools like Grammarly). Right now, there are many grammar or vocabulary issues, and the article is very hard to read because of numerous errors. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:57, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, professor. I have added a new banner to Mohe's article and reviewed it (this is the link), please check it. Zzzxxxrrr (talk) 04:37, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Zzzxxxrrr Very good. But see the talk page at Talk:Mohe – Travel guide at Wikivoyage - a better (larger) image is needed. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:51, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
- Dear professor
- I changed the banner of Mohe
- AI is also used for sentence checking on translated articles.User:Zzzxxxrrr/sandbox
- Thank you for your checking. Zzzxxxrrr (talk) 05:19, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Zzzxxxrrr You can upload only the pictures you have taken yourself. Please show me proof in class that this picture was taken by yourself; otherwise, it will be deleted as stolen.
- Regarding your English translation, please proofread it carefully with AI or Grammar tools - if you have done so already, this was clearly not sufficient. There are many grammar or vocabulary errors, and it is difficult to read; many sentences have errors and are confusing. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:40, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
- Dear professor, I have modified Mohe’s banner again. There are grammatical errors in the article, please check it. Zzzxxxrrr (talk) 06:01, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- The grammatical errors in the translation of the article have been corrected, please check.User:Zzzxxxrrr/sandbox Zzzxxxrrr (talk) 06:03, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Zzzxxxrrr The picture is not formatted correctly - it is obviously unnatural. Please reupload it with proper aspect ratio, then upload another version for the banner using the tool here: https://croptool.toolforge.org/ You need to CROP the image, not stretch it.
- Please expand the first sentence by adding some more content (2-3 sentences) describing most interesting aspects of this location - tell people why they would want to visit this place, what makes it special.
- Are there any festivals that could be discussed under the do section?
- Please see the feedback at Talk:Mohe – Travel guide at Wikivoyage Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 01:11, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

- Looking at the map I am a bit confused - why is there a shaded area in the middle of the map?
- Which neighourhood is in the middle, which is on the left and which is on the right? We should explain it.
- The map probably should be zoomed out by one level so all listings can be seen in it Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:15, 13 November 2024 (UTC)

- Are there any festivals that could be discussed under the do section?
- Please make sure all entries have some description, for example Wuhai People's Park has none; the first store listed likewise.

editDear Professor We have completed one of article for Media Trends and Globalization, please check it https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%B6%88%E5%A4%B1%E5%A5%B3%E4%BA%BA%E4%B9%8B%E8%B0%9C
But another article keeps being deleted by other users,So sorry Professor, we may need a little more time https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potala_Palace_Square Babaibiaobin (talk) 12:09, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- Other users remove copyright content copied from https://www.chinawiki.net/thread/48/22696.
- But I found the content on this website is completely copied and translated from Baidu.
- We know that Wikipedia cannot use content from Baidu, and we will find more valuable references.
- Just confused, why is the content on this website (https://www.chinawiki.net/thread/48/22696.) copyrighted?Maybe Is there any cooperation with Baidu? Babaibiaobin (talk) 12:53, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Babaibiaobin A lot of people on the Internet steal content from other websites, ignoring (breaking) Copyright. I don't know if people who run chinawiki.net have permission to use Baidu content, I expect they are just stealing it. But we cannot steal it from them; two wrongs do not maker a right. Also, please note that copyright works like this: EVERYTHING IS COPYRIGHTED UNLESS IT IS VERY OLD OR RELEASED UNDER A LICENCE THAT EXPLICITLY STATES OTHERWISE (read also: Copyleft). So unless you see a message on a page saying that a content is free (such as a note saying Creative Commons license is used - visible for example at the bottom of each Wikimedia Foundation-affiliated page), the content of that page is copyrighted and cannot be used without receiving explicit permission from the owner. - @Babaibiaobin Good. Please carefully check all references one by one to ensure they have metadata information (author, title, publisher, date). Next, if the source is in Chinese (ex. 走进布达拉宫广场-四川经济网-经济门户".), please use both the Chinese and English titles. Use Chinese title in the 'title' field, and English in the 'translated title' field. Deadline6:HONG HAOTIAN&LI MENGCHEN
editDear Professor: I am taking two courses, "Media Trends and Globalization" and "Understanding Small Data and Big Data through Wikis."
We have completed the issue changes for the English to Chinese [2] and Chinese to English [3] articles. Please check! Honghaotian (talk) 04:25, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- This is our finished putian introduction, please check thanks[4] Limengchen2777 (talk) 04:27, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Honghaotian @Limengchen2777
- Regarding your translation to Chinese (biodiversity), if you have translated most content, you can publish your article by moving the draft to the mainspace (see zh:Help:页面重命名 on how to do this); then we will see what the Chinese reviewers will say. If a term exists in English Wikipedia and has an article there, but not on Chinese Wikipedia, please use this tool zh:Template:Interlanguage link multi to link it. If you need help, I can demonstrate how to use it.
- Regarding your translation to English, please proofread it carefully - for example, "The search engine fills in the volunteer event" - is event the correct word here? Or "Finding the official volunteer entrance is complex" - what do you mean by entrance? Or in another section: "Most stickers were banned". There are many such errors in the text, making reading and comprehension hard. The 'In 2015, the main owner of the fleet collection bar was replaced' section is another example, I read half of it and I don't know what it is talking about. Is this a forum for people collecting ship models? Please work with an AI tool or preferably a real person fluent in English to carefully proofread your text. What is a bar? See bar - usually it means Bar (establishment) Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:29, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- As for Wikivoyage (Putian):
- Please expand the first sentence by adding some more content (2-3 sentences) describing most interesting aspects of this location - tell people why they would want to visit this place, what makes it special.
- Get around section is missing.
- For festivals, can you add location, time and homepage information? A Chinese name would also be useful
- You can zoom in and recenter the map to make it more useful
- Please take a look at feedback you got at Talk:Putian – Travel guide at Wikivoyage

- Please expand the first sentence by adding some more content (2-3 sentences) describing most interesting aspects of this location - tell people why they would want to visit this place, what makes it special.
- All entries under see should be converted into listings, right now only the first two are done correctly

ARTICLE EXPANSION TASK--FAN XINRU
editHello Professor, I have chosen to expand the article on Cangzhou as my task. This is my second time editing and I have expanded and added it according to your requirements. Can you help me look it up? It would be even better if you could point out the issues that need to be changed. Thank you very much, looking forward to your reply. Jzhdylb (talk) 08:58, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Jzhdylb Here are my suggestions:
- Please expand the first sentence by adding some more content (2-3 sentences) describing most interesting aspects of this location - tell people why they would want to visit this place, what makes it special.
- You need more listings. The middle one (Cangzhou zhan) is unfinished - what is it?
- For festivals, can you add location, time and homepage information? A Chinese name would also be useful
- Please ask for review and follow the recommendations from it (see https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/User:Hanyangprofessor2#Final_review).
- Entries in Go next should have blue links to them. What is "Hometown America.Transportation method: Self-driving tour (about 4.5 hours)"? Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:38, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hello professor, thank you for your guidance last time. I have modified and supplemented according to the guidance. If you can, please help me check the newly revised article again. I want to do better. Thank you very much for your time.Attached article link again. Jzhdylb (talk) 14:56, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Jzhdylb Good. You still need to convert mention of Cangzhou Iron Lion (新滄州鐵獅子) into a listing with GPS coordinates. Festival and Expo should have GPS coordinate as well.
- And you should be able to add more listings to see. Are there no other monuments or attractions in this area? Is this really so boring? This city is 7 million. Compare to how many listings your colleagues added to a much smaller Korean city at Nonsan – Travel guide at Wikivoyage for example. Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 02:20, 24 November 2024 (UTC)

This is my Chinese to English translation project: The Long Night
This is my extra English-Chinese translation project: Asian Pride
Please check, Thank you Xuan6699 (talk) 16:47, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Xuan6699 Please convert the bullet points into prose, which is the preferred way of writing in English. The award section should have all awards in the table, not just one.
- And for that table (The 3rd "Asian Content Awards) the reference is only about nominations. Please find a reference that confirms that this movie won the "Best OTT Original" award (and was nominated for others - they are not even mentioned in that reference, ex. 'Best Idea').
- The section on 'Publicity Fun Facts' seems to be random WP:TRIVIA and should be rewritten, moved aroud or deleted so that it is not random trivia (read the linked guideline).
- Please proofread yoru article carefully, and compare it to the guideline at Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Film#Primary_content . Please ensure your heading (section titles) are named accordingly with that guideline.

- @WANGYIZHE1124 Regarding your translation to English, please move it from Chinese Wikipedia to English Wikipedia (to your user sandbox here) ; then work on ensuring all content is properly referenced. Good start. Please make sure to add references to your article. Please remember that only referenced content can be added to English Wikipedia and only such content will count for credit. - Regarding your Wikivoyage article:
- Please add more information to Get in, such as the listing (with GPS) for the bus station. Is there no train connection? Look at how it is done in other articles (ex, Ansan, etc.)
- You need many more listings for see, as well as the do section (in which you can mention local festivals, for example).
- You have a climate infobox, but you should add a section explaining it in words. Look at Ansan or similar articles.
- Please take a look at feedback you got at and carry out the suggestions you find there: Talk:Menghai – Travel guide at Wikivoyage
- Please ask for additional review and follow the recommendations from it (see https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/User:Hanyangprofessor2#Final_review).

- Please expand the first sentence by adding some more content (2-3 sentences) describing most interesting aspects of this location - tell people why they would want to visit this place, what makes it special. - Please expand the first sentence by adding some more content (2-3 sentences) describing most interesting aspects of this location - tell people why they would want to visit this place, what makes it special.
- Your banner needs to be formatted the correct ratio. Please upload a new image based on the current one using this tool: https://croptool.toolforge.org/ then use it as a banner instead of the current one
- Please add a GPS coordinate for the Penglai train station
- Please recenter the map - right now most of the listings are hidden on the edge. We probably don't need to show the location of the outlying restaurant or the airport
- Are there any festivals that could be discussed under the do section?

- @WANGRUITONG
- Your translation at User:WANGRUITONG is a good start but needs much more work. There are untranslated Chinese characters (see infobox).
- The image at the top is malformatted, with caption outside it. Move it to the middle of the article and adjust the placement of the caption.
- References are malformatted - please edit them so that they contain no red errors, and instead have the correct metadata (author, title, date, etc.). Books should have ISBN numbers. Next, if the source is in Chinese (ex. 费正清,崔瑞德. 剑桥中华民国史(下卷)), please use both the Chinese and English titles. All references should use citation templates. Use Chinese title in the 'title' field, and English in the 'translated title' field. If you need help, stop by my office and I'll demonstrate how to do so.

editHello professor, these are the three Wikipedia articles I have recently edited, totaling 30 edits. Perhaps you can help me check, thank you very much. Here is the link.1.2.3. Jzhdylb (talk) 15:24, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Jzhdylb Your edits are good, but please make sure to add citations to your text. For example, what is the source for the claim that "Jade Girl Peak, with an altitude of 625 meters, was formed during the Paleozoic Era. The name of Jade Girl Peak comes from the fact that Jade Girl Peak stands tall and tall for dozens of feet, and looks like a graceful girl from a distance." ? - @Uuueol Good. The following fixes are needed:

- If you forgot how to do some of that, see our assignments instructions at User:Hanyangprofessor2 – Travel guide at Wikivoyage or come to my office for a demonstration

Deadline 4-WEN JIAYAO
editProfessor, I'm sorry to finish this task so late, but I'm going to speed it up. Here is my sandbox link, which is now 50% translated. https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Wjyy1212/%E6%B2%99%E7%9B%92 Wjyy1212 (talk) 10:30, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Wjyy1212 If you are translating from Chinese to English, please do so in your English Wikipedia sandbox, not on Chinese Wikipedia. Let me know when you have added blue links (hyperlinks) and references.
- lease remember that only referenced content can be added to English Wikipedia and only such content will count for credit. The content from Chinese article that has no references needs to be referenced first before being translated. See Wikipedia:Verifiability
- Please carefully check all references one by one to ensure they have metadata information (author, title, publisher, date). Next, if the source is in Chinese (ex. 李鹏《六四日记》), please use both the Chinese and English titles. Use Chinese title in the 'title' field, and English in the 'translated title' field. If you need help, stop by my office and I'll demonstrate how to do so.
- Also, if a term exists in Chinese Wikipedia and has an article there, but not on English Wikipedia, please use Template:Interlanguage link to link it. If you don't know how to use that tool, come to my office hours and I'll demonstrate Piotrus at Hanyang| reply here 03:21, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
Deadline6:XI JIAXIN
editDear Professor,
I took two courses, "Media Trends and Globalization" and "Understanding Small Data and Big Data through Wikis."
I have completed deadline 6. Suggest editing content for other editors.
This is the link to "Media Trends and Globalization"
This is the link to "Learn about Small Data and Big Data through Wiki"
Then the media trend and globalization of the article "Meizhou Mazu Temple" has been amended, please check, thank you. Xjx921 (talk) 12:43, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Xjx921 Your first comment should be moved from your friend's sandbox talk to their main user talk. Please copy it there.
- Regarding your second comment (on Wikivoyage), someone asked for you to clarify what you meant - please explain it there in more details.
- Regarding your article translation (MM Temple), the following fixes are needed:
- Remove the Chinese characters from the beginning of each heading. They can and should be present the first time you mention a Chinese proper name (for a person or place) if that entity has no Wikipedia article that can be linked to
- if a term exists in Chinese Wikipedia and has an article there, but not on English Wikipedia, please use Template:Interlanguage link to link it. If you don't know how to use that tool, come to my office hours and I'll demonstrate.
- Please remember that only referenced content can be added to English Wikipedia and only such content will count for credit. The content from Chinese article that has no references needs to be referenced first before being translated. See Wikipedia:Verifiability. A lot of your content has no references and cannot be published.

editHello professor, this is my sandbox draft. I have modified and streamlined the article after the administrator's prompts. Please check it out.User:Mcx8202229/sandbox Mcx8202229 🇨🇳❤️ (talk) 06:19, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Mcx8202229 Good progress. The following fixes are needed:
- Please make sure to add references to your article. Please remember that only referenced content can be added to English Wikipedia and only such content will count for credit. The content from Chinese article that has no references needs to be referenced first before being translated. See Wikipedia:Verifiability. Currently, Game content, Background setting and Development have no references.
- The review section should summarize the reviews; but they seem to be just translations . We cannot copy and translate someone's review, we have to summarize it, or quote briefly. Please rewrite this to summarize what the reviewers said. For example of how this should be done, see The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Wikipedia or Genshin Impact - Wikipedia
