I like conciseness in articles, so most of my edits involve reworking existing text and removing redundant phrasing. I find the following phrases can normally be removed without any effect on the meaning of the text:

  • It must be noted that
  • Interestingly
  • However,
  • On the other hand
  • Some point out that
  • Of course,
  • Obviously,
  • It was reported that
  • Sources revealed that
  • In month/year it was announced that
  • is known for

see WP:NOTED

I also try to move the focus of articles from the word to the topic. Removing phrases like:

  • is a term that refers to
  • describes
  • refers to

see WP:NOTDIC

I award The Resilient Barnstar to the editors at Answers in Genesis for overcoming their differences and collaborating toward a better article. Durova
