editHi, I think that there is inaccurate info about History and Economy of RN (according to major Encyclopedias). Am I allowed to delete info posted by others? Or should I leave both copies, leaving to someone else the job of final editing? BTW, this same thing happened when I edited the Geography section: I added some info which are contraditory to which was already written (about climate in the interior part of the State); with these other sections, however, I would add major corrections, and would like to have input from more experienced users before changing anything. editFor a long time starting in 1633, Rio Grande do Norte was under Dutch control, and under this colonial master, the economy flourished, with vast sugarcane fields being planted and many cattle being raised. It is largely thanks to this development that the state is as prosperous as it is today.
This is not correct, the dutch didn´t anythig to help Rio Grande do Norte economy. No road, seaport or any kind of building has been constructed under dutch colonization. OTOH, many massacres happened, like "massacres de cunhaú e uruaçu" http://www.tribunadonorte.com.br/especial/martires/origem.htm (portuguese info, sorry). --Patrick-br 17:41, 10 May 2005 (UTC)
- Oi Patrick!!! i'm using a Port. enclyclopedia and they say the development was earlier to the Dutch rule. And, nothing during the Dutch rule, because it was ephemeral. I'm going to edit the article and add inotes to it. hugs. -Pedro 12:28, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

- "André Vidal de Negreiros" <-- I'm also Vidal o_O maybe he's from my family!!! lol It is so rare to find people with Vidal LOL. Most of Vidal part of my family is from Brazil, and they are there for ages and they raize cattle (but they live in the south).-Pedro 13:31, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
