Miao dao/Changdao
editThis page says that Miao dao is a mistaken name for Changdao, but Miao dao says that it's an actual sword whose name is sometimes mistakenly applied to earlier weapons such as the Changdao. Not necessarily an error, but some clarification is needed.
- Changed the wording a bit, otherwise discussed on the miaodao page. Ergative rlt 01:32, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Requested move

The result of the proposal was move per request. Dab page has been deleted in favor of hatnotes, which I have added to both.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 03:15, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
Changdao (sword) → Changdao — To move back to original title. This is the primary topic. The only other use in an article title is Changdao County, which gets a fraction of the pageviews and could be mentioned in a hatnote. Station1 (talk) 10:05, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
- Support Clearly the primary (and only) topic with this exact name. Move disambiguation page to Changdao (disambiguation). Skinsmoke (talk) 14:59, 24 July 2010 (UTC)
- Support
boththe move of this page to the undisambiguated title Changdaoand the move of the disambiguation page to Changdao (disambiguation). Clear primary topic. Andrewa (talk) 17:00, 24 July 2010 (UTC) - Support and delete the disambiguation page per WP:TWODABS. I.e., use hatnotes (unless the two redlinked Changdaos at the dab page are really important). — AjaxSmack 01:32, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- I'm of two minds as to whether we should keep the DAB, but see no great harm in overwriting it rather than moving it to Changdao (disambiguation). On the other hand it's far better to overwrite the DAB page now rather than to move it now and then later delete it, because as soon as we move it we start running the risk that other sites and old versions of Wikipedia pages might link to it at its new title. The current DAB has no significant history to preserve. So no change of main vote, but weak support for deleting the DAB if others think it matters. Andrewa (talk) 03:32, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- I'm more open than most to having redlinks or non-article entries on dab pages if they assist users who might be looking for more info on a topic (e.g., Ibinda (disambiguation), a creation of mine). However, I don't see the redlinked articles at Changdao going anywhere (even the Chinese Wikipedia doesn't have articles on them). They are subsets of Changdao County and that article can cover them fine. — AjaxSmack 01:26, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

- Comment Have no problem with deleting the disambiguation page and dealing with disambiguation by hatnotes. Skinsmoke (talk) 11:58, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

editI've removed the link to Wikipedia:WikiProject Equine, can anyone tell me why it was added? Andrewa (talk) 11:36, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- My guess is that it's because this is an anti-cavalry sword. Cavalry being horse units in warfare. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.176.139.167 (talk) 13:30, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
