Recipe = OR?

edit

So is it just me or does the unsourced recipe included in this article violate WP:OR? Planetneutral 02:20, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Could be. Maybe we need to find one on the Web and cite it properly. Realkyhick 03:35, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Actually, the recipe is a duplicate of this one on the internet -> http://members.aol.com/DLDebertin/burgoo.htm My opinion is that it should be removed. Dlc3007 14:38, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Burgoo Capital of the World

edit

The article lists Franklin, Illinois as Burgoo Capital of the World, but also states that Lawrenceberg, Kentucky is the self-proclaimed Burgoo Capital of the World. Apart from this article, what independent source is available that can settle this important issue? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.32.192.35 (talk) 16:04, 18 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • NEW COMMENT: Whomever wrote this wiki article about Burgoo, does not know beans about it. Burgoo orignated in Christian County KY about 1799, and was introduced as a concoction of rabbitt and deer that was slow cooked by hickory fire and that was added to a stew accompanied by additional game such as squirrel and quail and root vegetables by the earliest settlers from North Carolina. The recipe was limited to content availability in that remote areas of the state. The name has been transplanted to other parts of the country unsuccessfully maintaining the integrity of the recipe and slow cooking process. Most of what is found elsewhere is a nearly inedible mix of tabasco sauce and frozen vegies. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.190.253.239 (talk) 17:40, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
