Early life and education
editMcAbee was from Orange County, New York, the daughter of Daniel Hayes McAbee and Ruth E. Edgecomb McAbee. She earned a degree in chemical engineering at West Virginia University in 1942.[1]
Career
editMcAbee worked in the Army's Plastics and Packaging Laboratory at Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey. She and her colleagues won the Army Research & Development Achievement Award in 1965.[2][3] Her research on plastics, polymers, and adhesives was published in academic journals including The Journal of Adhesion[4] and The Journal of Applied Polymer Science.[5]
