Abstract
The effects of thermal deformation treatment and of modification of the friction surface by composite coatings on the wear resistance of B83 babbit antifriction alloy used in highly loaded friction couplings is studied. It is shown that the creation of a fine-grained structure uniformly saturated with fine dispersed inclusions decreases considerably the wear intensity.
