Abstract
Antifungal activities of dieckol from the brown alga Ecklonia cava against Trichophyton rubrum (T. rubrum) were investigated. The minimum inhibitory concentration of dieckol was 200 μM. Fluorescent microscopic observation indicated that dieckol exhibited a fungicidal activity against T. rubrum due to loss of cytoplasmic membrane integrity.
