Basic elements in a pseudo MV-algebra

Abstract

 The notion of basic element in a pseudo MV-algebra is defined analogously as in the case of lattice ordered groups. In this paper we deal with psuedo MV-algebras ? such that each nonzero element of ? exceeds some basic element. Further, we investigate direct products and strong subdirect products of pseudo MV-algebras.
