Abstract
A new programming model is used to parallelize a sequential simulator for 3D fully nonlinear water waves. This so-called simulator-parallel model has its numerical foundation in additive Schwarz methods, so it possesses inherent parallelism and inherits the intrinsic numerical efficiency of domain decomposition algorithms. Within an object-oriented framework implementing this model, the actual parallelization work for the sequential wave simulator becomes straightforward. Numerical experiments show that the resulting parallel simulator achieves good parallel efficiency.
