Abstract
The future ‘Media Lounge’ is a demonstration application which is being developed to provide a better understanding of what can be achieved with streamed 3D interactive mixed media in the home. It demonstrates how conventional broadcast media (digital radio and digital television) can be embedded into shared 3D interactive environments, with the aid of the home network. The idea is to enhance the radio listening and TV viewing experience, by combining it with a shared virtual world.
