Abstract

We live in a knowledge-based society, when the ability to find and apply the right information is a basic skill in every life need. Hence, today it cannot be said that someone who is not able to find and use information enabling them to take care of their own health, is a health competent person. Health literacy (HL) is the ability to understand and use the information related to health and disease. To improve the HL of people it is possible to use the IT/ICT tools and methods. The paper presents the case study of use of IT technologies for health literacy and health information competences supporting that was realized in the framework of EU project, named ELILY2.
