Ruth Gannon Cook
Ruth received her doctorate from the University of Houston in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Design Technology (2003). She also attended the Queens College, Cambridge, United Kingdom, and received a Certificate for Advanced Studies in Technology Diffusion (1995). She has published two books, "What motivates faculty to teach in distance education? A case study and meta-literature review" (2010, University Press), and "Lessons learned from reading the signs" (2021, Brill/Sense Publishers). In addition, she has published extensive peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and has presented at over 70 conference presentations on elearning and on semiotics. She has also served as Editor of the Journal of Educators Online (JEO) for five years and serves on the editorial boards of a number of academic journals.
