The participants were 101 students taken by stratified sampling technique and the data were collected through a questionnaire by using cross-sectional design. This research applied descriptive quantitative method and the data were then described in terms of summary frequency. The findings show that the word " MarTuhan " has some character reflections such as " berTuhan " , " beriman " , and " percaya pada Tuhan " while " Marroha " is reflected in " rendah hati " , " memiliki hati " , " berhati " , and " baik hati ". " Marbisuk " is reflected in " bijaksana " character. In term of translatability, the word " Marbisuk " is the word which is well translated by the students. Therefore, since this motto has the capacity to be placed globally, the familiarization of IT Del " s motto in English must be emphasized and the best method for translating it is adaptation.

In carrying out this research, qualitative design was applied and the participants were 10 students of 2012/2013 academic year. They took scientific writing subject and the lecturer asked them to write an article about linguistics or education and published it in the peer-reviewed international journals as their final exam. The data was obtained by observing the participants' email of the manuscript acceptance from the journal reviewers. In addition, the researcher collected the documents containing comments of the external referee report on the accepted manuscript with revision. After that, the researcher calculated the number of students fulfilling the indicators of the manuscript publication until accepted. The finding showed that the approach of publishing scholarly article in the international journals increased the quality of the students' scientific writing. Thirty percent of the participants were successful in publishing their scholarly article in international journals. Despite this success, the approach was limited only to any international journal without considering the prestige and the impact factor of the international journals. In the future, the researcher suggests using this kind of approach in Scopus indexed with moderate impact factor international journals to improve the quality of the students' scientific writing especially in the English postgraduate program.

This study aims to clarify and suggest possible solutions that can be considered by organizations in order to enhance employees' knowledge transfer intention to consultants during ERP implementations. An online survey was conducted amongst a number of companies implementing SAP system in Indonesia. The result was analyzed using partial least square technique. Some literature suggest that organizational rewards are significant to employees' willingness to transfer knowledge but recent finding in this study shows that this is not the case. Thus, the findings lead to suggestions that providing organizational rewards during ERP implementations is not fundamental in promoting client's knowledge transfer intention.

This research gives evidence that humor can be an effective instrument in creating the positive classroom atmosphere and in learning English as a foreign language. This study elaborates Aboudan’s (2009) research on using humor in learning a second language. The respondents of this study are 250 students majoring in electrical engineering, biotechnology engineering, informatics engineering, and industrial engineering. They are asked to give their answer on a questionnaire asking the effect of humor on learning, concentration, and attention. In addition, the questionnaire also asks the respondents the amount of humor considered appropriate in a classroom. The result of this study reveals the preference of the students when taught using humor. 85% of the respondents tell that humor makes them give more attention in learning and 90% point out that humor motivates them to give more involvement in classroom activities and humor should be used from time to time. The findings of this research are in line with the previous studies stating that the use of humor in ESL classroom facilitates learning, breaks the tension between students and teacher, and increasing classroom atmosphere. In short, this study confirms that humor creates the positive learning environment and has the positive impact on language teaching in a rural area university

The aim of this research was to find out the most dominant sentence type written by the author majoring in Information and Technology and to investigate why the author frequently used the sentence in the conference paper. The data were taken from a conference paper and were analyzed using the theory of sentence types by Delahunty and Garvey (2010). The researcher classified and calculated the number of the sentences in the paper based on their types. It was found that four types of sentences were used in writing an IT text. In details, Complex Sentence dominated the text with the number of 43 sentences or 46% of the sentence in the text. Almost 25% of the sentences in the text were in the form of Simple Sentence, and Compound Complex Sentence ranked the third position with 17 sentences and the fewest sentences in the paper was Compound Sentence which was only 10 sentences or nearly 11% of the number of sentence in the IT text. To conclude, the author frequently used Complex Sentence in order to give more description about the items she wrote in the paper. A text is a meaningful linguistic unit in context and it is both spoken and written (Siahaan and Shinoda, 2008:1). It can be in a variety of forms. There are various texts that have a particular communicative function or purpose. One of them is science and technology text or information and technology text. In the point of view of English for Specific Purpose (ESP), this kind of text has a special feature through its form and vocabularies (Parkinson, 2013:155-156). Some technical terms, the use of imperatives, the use of pronominal reference, and the use of temporal conjunction color the grammars used in this kind of text. In this paper, the researcher tries to investigate the sentence types that construct an information and technology text since this study is strongly related to the passages or texts read by the university level students studying information and technology field. The researcher initiates this study by formulating some research questions: 1. What are the sentences types existing in an information and technology text? 2. Which sentence type is more dominant in an information and technology text? The purpose of this research is to find out the sentences types used in an information and technology text and to find out the kind of sentences dominating an information and technology text. This research is expected to give a contribution to the ESP subject and to describe the sentence types written by the author of an information and technology text.

As the students spending on average six hours a day studying the subjects related to information and technology engineering, they have less time to listen to the lecture that contains humor. This research is supported by Garner's (2006) work on the use of humor in pedagogy stated that humor may enhance learning. The participants of this study are 114 sophomores and the instrument used to obtain the data is a Likert-scaled pedagogical humor questionnaire created by Askildson (2005). The findings indicate that the use of humor in teaching and learning process is important and it supports many beneficial effects. The first is the students feel more relaxed after learning several IT subjects. The second is a more positive learning environment is created by breaking down the communication barrier between the students and the lecturer. The third is the students' motivation and interests in learning English are increased. To sum up, humor is perceived as the essential component in teaching learning process not only in English subject but also in other subjects.

This research aims to collect measurement of acquisition parameters of the robot's movement. It is hypothesized that the speed of the instruction execution is different when using LAN and WAN. In spite of this, it is expected that the arm robot is able to translocate the object to the desired angular degree through web-controlled application. The methods are as the followings: Raspberry Pi collects data in a database and analysis of stored data. This system will work based on an algorithm developed to lift the object. Then, through a web-based user interface, internet users can control the robot arm in order to operate the experiment instrument at anywhere and anytime. The development of this robot is based on AT-mega platform that will be connected to a microchip placed on the robot running as a server. The result is that robotic arm is capable of placing the object at the specified position accurately, and after testing, the significance of this robot is that it becomes a solution to many problems such as selecting and placing dangerous objects safely, easily, and quickly.

Cross-sectional survey was conducted in Tobasa and Samosir Regency and its purpose was (1) to assess the food security status of rural households (N = 192), (2) to identify the influence of selected factors on their food security condition and (3) to deliver outcomes which might play an important role in establishing appropriate policies and intervention strategy to prevent and reduce food insecurity. Due to the proven applicability in many studies, Food and Nutrition Technical Assitance's method was implemented for the comprehensive household food security analysis. The findings showed that 51.6% (n = 99) households were considered as moderately or severely food insecure, 18.8% of the sample as mildly food insecure (n = 36) and less than a third (n = 57) of households was food secure. Further analysis investigated the correlation between household food security status and selected variables. The results higlighted the role of rural education, agriculture extension services, creation of employment opportunities and improved dietary diversity in reducing household food insecurity.
