The following recreational activities are being planned as part of the ICSE program
ICSE Wednesday morning meditation
Relax and Unwind: A Guided Meditation with Laurie Williams. Wednesday, April 30 at 8 am.
Do you need to calm your social anxiety before ICSE 2025 kicks in? Do you need to reset your stress level or reboot your focus before giving a public talk? Do you want to disconnect from work? Do you want to bond with your peers? ICSE 2025 is proud to offer a mental health and well-being session to all attendees. Please join us for a guided group mediation session with Laurie Williams.
ICSE Thursday morning run
We will organize a morning run along the canal or the Ottawa River. It will start at the Rogers Centre around 7 a.m. Thursday morning, so you have time to get back to your hotel and change before the conference. This has been an ICSE tradition for many years.
We are planning a full 6km route for those who would like it; click for Google Maps … or you can turn around for a shorter route at the Pretoria Bridge
Thursday afternoon soccer game
As in some past ICSEs there will be a soccer game, Thursday May 1 from 4-7 at the Matt Anthony Field (801 King Edward Avenue) of the University of Ottawa.
You will have time to get back to change for the banquet. We plan to have an online sign-up for this prior to the conference.
Don’t use Google Search for Matt Antony field, as it will take you to the vehicular entrance … instead search for 801 King Edward Ave. It is about a 20 minute fast walk from the Rogers Centre or 17 minutes if you take light rail one stop from Rideau to UOttawa
ICSE cycle tour(s)
We have been in contact with a bicycle rental company near the Shaw Centre to arrange a group bike tour (or maybe a couple of them) around some of Ottawa’s traffic-free bike paths during ICSE week. Closer to conference time we will have a signup for this.
