Although psoriasis is clinically and histologically well characterized, its pathogenesis is unknown in detail. The aims of this study were to evaluate the proteome of psoriatic patients' sera and to compare them with those of normal healthy human to find valuable biomarkers. Materials and Methods: In a case-control study, twenty cases of white patients with psoriasis vulgaris, 10 males and 10 females and sixteen healthy controls, 8 males and 8 females were enrolled in the study. The serum protein expression patterns obtained after depletion of albumin were compared by using two dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) coupled to MALDI/TOF-TOF to identify disease associated proteins. Our goal is to evaluate the antiapoptotic impact of garlic or allopurinol against fipronil neurotoxicity. Thirty-six mature male albino rats were separated into control, garlic aqueous extract (500 mg/kg), allopurinol (150 mg/L in their drinking water), fipronil (13.277 mg/kg), garlic+fipronil, and allopurinol+fipronil. Our results revealed that fipronil induced a significant increase in brain malondialdehyde, protein carbonyl levels as well as enzymatic antioxidant activities (superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione peroxidase, and xanthine oxidase), but glutathione-S-transferase recorded a significant decrease as compared to the control. In addition, fipronil significantly up-regulated the brain pro-apoptotic (Bax) and caspase -3 mRNA gene expression and induced DNA fragmentation but caused down-regulation in anti-apoptotic (Bcl-2) mRNA genes expression. The current study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic sensitivity of arginase (ARG) activity, alpha-1 antitrypsin (AAT), and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) in the sera of patients with HCV (with & without viremia) and HCC. A total of 190 men classified as 40 healthy used as control (G1), 100 infected with HCV (subdivided into 50 with viremia (G2) and 50 without viremia (G3), and 50 with HCC (G4). The activity of ARG significantly decreased in HCV and HCC groups along with significant elevation in the level of AAT and AFP as compared with the control. Although a non-significant variation was scored in AST/ALT, significant differences were observed among AST/ARG and ARG/ALT in the pathogenic groups as compared with the healthy group. Beside that they are suspected to produce hormonal disruption and apoptosis. In the present work, the impact of these insecticides in produce DNA damage, stimulate apoptosis and disrupt thyroid hormones were investigated in neonatal rats. Twenty one days-old neonatal rats were orally intubated with serial low doses of imidacloprid and/or esfenvalerate daily for consecutive seven days. At the end of the treatment, blood samples were withdrawn and animals were sacrificed, the brain and the liver were removed and quickly frozen. The aim of the current study was to investigate the anti-diabetic effect of the aqueous extract of Pterocarpus santalinus on streptozotocin (STZ)-induced DM as compared to glustin. Materials and Methods: Thirty male rats were divided into five groups of six rats each as follows: control; the second group, received the aqueous plant extract (250 mg/kg) orally and daily for three weeks; the third group, was intraperitoneally injected with a single dose of 65 mg/kg of STZ and sacrificed after four weeks; the fourth and fifth groups, were injected with STZ, then after one week these were treated orally with either plant extract or with 3 mg/kg of glustin for three weeks, then sacrificed. So, this study objective to evaluate if Egyptian flaxseed (FS) whole grain can protect pregnant rats and their foetuses against diesel exhaust particles (DEPs) and/or fenitrothion (FEN) toxicities or not. STZ also caused an extensive β-cell degranulation and decreased cellular density. The aqueous extract of red sandalwood was able to abrogate the deleterious effects caused by STZ and improved the histological architecture of pancreas Conclusion: The aqueous extract of P. santalinus ameliorates diabetes mellitus via anti-inflammatory pathways and enhancement of insulin function.
