I know theoretically Alcoholics Anonymous helps some people get sober but as someone who has watched several people try and fail that program it is kind of bonkers to me that the primary source of support for addiction in this country is a series of steps that include “dive headfirst into evangelical guilt” “never stop thinking about your addiction” “go cold turkey” and “you will never not be addicted” rather than like….helping people get hobbies and better life situations
