The topic of this paper is the women’s position during wartime and the female perception of war in
the first half od 20th century in Max Aub’s (1903-1972) one-act plays. We will analyze two models of women’s
perception of war and the consequences of it – active and passive – in one-act plays De algún tiempo a
esta parte (For a while) (1956) and La vuelta: 1947 (The Return: 1947) (1965). The main characters, Emma
and Isabel, as well as female side characters in dramas, live in undefined spatiotemporal frame between
past, present and uncertain future and base their existence on memories and reminiscences. Emma suffers
because of her origin and Isabel because of her political views. Both women are victims of war, although
their conscience of war and the level of involvement differ significantly. We will examine the position and
contribution of Aub’s female characters in turbulent historical circumstances, analyzing comparatively some
literary devices used by Aub in these one-act plays.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the literary elaboration of the social revolutions’ consequences in the novel PremeditatedMurder (1993) by Slobodan Selenić and in the short story “House Taken Over” (1946) by Julio Cortázar. Selenić is considering the fall of the bourgeois class and the rise of the new communist elite in postwar Belgrade, while Cortázar is reflecting on the life of former Argentinian landowners in Buenos Aires during the era of Juan Perón’s government in the 1940s. Both writers use subtle literary devices to represent the conflicts between the “new” and the “old” elite and the impact of great political twists on the everyday private life of Yugoslav and Argentinian people. We will analyze these two works comparatively and establish the similarities and differences in the literary representations of chronologically close events in two geographically distant countries. We will take also into consideration the concept of civilization and barbarism, established by Argentinian polymath Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. The consequences of social revolutions will be classified as financial and social, emotional, and intellectual. We will explain how each of these groups of consequences has affected the protagonists of Selenić’s novel and Cortázar’s short story.

This paper examines the poetization as literary device in dramas Mariana Pineda by Federico
García Lorca and A Night of War in the Prado Museum by Rafael Alberti. The purpose of this paper
is to analyze the way the history is depicted in these pieces. It will be considered why the authors
modified some historical details and what they achieved so. In order to analyze the two dramas, we
will employ inductive, deductive and comparative method and also the main principles of Brecht’s
epic theatre and Linda Hutcheon’s theory of historiographic metafiction. We will elaborate the
hypothesis about two subtypes of poetization: sentimentalization in Mariana Pineda and real (artistic) poetization in A Night of War. The literary device of poetization allows the authors to organize
the historical and political representation of facts more voluntarily and enrich it with an alegorical
dimension. The poetization justifies certain alterations of facts because these lapses intensify the
artistic effect.

NOVEL NAZI LITERATURE IN THE AMERICAS BY ROBERTO BOLAÑO
The topic of this paper is the employment of postmodern literary devices in the
novel Nazi Literature in the Americas (1996) by the Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño, as
well as the relation between history and fiction in this novel. Considering the main
principles of postmodern literature defined by John Barth, Charles Jencks, Umberto
Eco and Jean-François Lyotard and using the inductive and deductive method, we
will study to what extent Bolaño’s novel belongs to the postmodern poetics formally
and thematically. We will focus on the particular postmodern devices in the novel,
such as subjectivity, intertextuality, referentiality, ideology, technique of palimpsest,
irony, parody, deconstruction, fragmentarism and repetitiveness. We will intend
to explain, through the examples from the novel, why the process of writing in this
novel is fundamentally postmodern. We will take into consideration Linda Hutcehon’s
formulation of postmodern poetics, especially the question of the relation between
historical and fictional dimension in the postmodern literature that revalorizes fixed
categories like identity, author, knowledge, fiction and reality. We will prove that the
fusion of historical reality and fiction represents the essence of Bolaño’s postmodern
poetics, which is implemented in order to erase the borders between history and fiction.
Bolaño plays with history, literature and literary studies. He apparently distances
himself from reality, but in fact points to fundamental social and historical problems
of Latin America.

stepen rodne diskriminacije u reklamnim spotovima. Cilj rada je da se kroz
kvalitativnu analizu korpusa reklama pruži dokaz o zastupljenosti mizoginih
i seksističkih diskursa i vizuelnih efekata u reklamnim spotovima, čak i kada
pitanju. Osim seksizma i stereotipije, takođe posmatramo diskriminaciju
prema godištu i socijalnom statusu. Ispituje se kako jezik reklama odražava
društveni poredak i oslikava stereotipne društvene odnose i da li, čak i kada
formalno tvrdi suprotno, učvršćuje ustaljene rodne uloge. Rezultati analize
ukazuju da reklame imaju jak psihološko-sociološki efekat i da oblikuju
poželjne modele ponašanja i ideologije.
realista.
The topic of this paper is the analysis of the presence of allegorical and picaresque
elements in the novel La segunda parte de Lazarillo de Tormes y de sus fortunas y adversidades
(1555). Written as an apocryphal sequel of the book La vida de Lazarillo de Tormes y de sus
fortunas y adversidades (1554), this novel exceeds the limits of the Spanish picaresque in style
and content, but preserves its structure and formal characteristics. The allegory serves to the
author as a literary device used in order to criticize many phenomena and various social classes
in Spain in 16th century in the style of picaresque. Referring to the classical motif of
metamorphosis, the author of the apocryphal sequel discovers parallels between the world of
animals and the world of humans and emphasizes few differences and many similarities between
them. The aim of this paper is to prove to which extent the allegory contributes to the artistic
value of the picaresque genre and what is the qualitative relation between first and second part
of Lazarillo. It will be confirmed that the allegory in La segunda parte is employed as a poeticised
satire, which leads to the minor extent of harsh criticism typical for the cruelly realistic first part.
Tema ovog rada je analiza zastupljenosti alegorijskih i pikarskih elemenata u romanu

will study to what extent Bolaño’s novel belongs to the postmodern poetics formally
and thematically.
Key words:
Nazi Literature in the Americas, Roberto Bolaño, postmodernism, history, fiction
На примеру једночинки De algún tiempo a esta parte (Већ неко
We will examine the position and
contribution of Aub’s female characters in turbulent historical circumstances, analyzing comparatively some
literary devices used by Aub in these one-act plays.
stepen rodne diskriminacije u reklamnim spotovima.
