PROVIDING RESOURCES TO DRINKING WATER AND WASTEWATER SYSTEMS

Rural Water Infrastructure Committee

Welcome to the Rural Water Infrastructure Committee (RWIC) webpage. RWIC provides resources to Arizona's rural communities' drinking water and wastewater systems. The RWIC is a partnership of various federal and state agencies and non-profit organizations that provide loans, grants, and technical assistance to Arizona’s rural communities.

Our mission is to serve as a “One-Stop Shop” for rural communities with a population of less than 10,000. We are an organization of funders and technical assistance providers who partner to meet the needs of small drinking water and wastewater systems throughout Arizona. RWIC provides resources to Arizona's rural communities through:

Technical Assistance

Some partners offer technical assistance for small communities, including operator certification, asset management plans, permitting support, rate reviews, and other professional development.

Planning & Design

Many partners offer assistance for the planning and design phases of projects. This could include engineering assistance and design loans or grants.

Construction Funding

Almost all partners offer funding assistance for projects, including various grants and loans. Additionally, multiple partners may co-fund projects, ensuring that our rural communities receive the best help with the least financial burden.
