Winifred Ayinpogbilla Atiah
Dr. Winifred Ayinpogbilla Atiah is a young Ghanaian climate scientist who holds a master's degree in Mathematical Sciences and both bachelor's and a doctorate in Meteorology and Climate Science. Dr. Atiah’s fundamental research interests are, Hydro-meteorology, Biometeorology, Agrometeorology,
Weather Systems and Forecasting, Tropical Meteorology, and Climate extremes. She is equally highly enthusiastic about interdisciplinary researches. She is currently a lecturer and a postdoc under the SWIFT project in the Department of Physics, KNUST. Her current research is focused on the role of Mesoscale Convective Systems in recent flood cases in West Africa. With about seven years of experience in climate science and interdisciplinary research, she has worked extensively with some research clusters across the globe. These include the Quantifying Weather and Climate Impacts on
Health in Developing Countries (QWeCI), Dynamic-Aerosol-Chemistry-Cloud interactions in West Africa (DACCIWA), and the Global Challenge Research Fund Africa Science for Weather Information and Forecasting Techniques (GCRF African SWIFT) projects. Dr. Atiah has authored and co-authored over ten great works in peer-reviewed journals. In the next 5-10 years, her career`
aspiration is to become a well-recognized female interdisciplinary researcher in Africa and, eventually, the world
