Gustavo Fischman
Gustavo E. Fischman: Professor in educational policies and leadership studies at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College and Transborder Studies at Arizona State University.. His areas of specialization are Comparative Education, Higher Education Policy Studies, and Gender Studies in Education. His doctoral dissertation won the 1998 Gail P. Kelly Outstanding Dissertation of the Year Award of the Comparative and International Education Society. In 2005 he was selected as Research Fellow for the annual Program of Research of the Institute of Advanced Studies Lancaster University. In 2008 he was a Visiting Fellow in the Mundusfor Masters (Erasmus Mundus Program, European Union) and in 2009 he obtained a New Century Scholar Award from the William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. He has been a visiting professor and collaborates on projects in the USA, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Spain, Portugal, and Mexico, and is the author of several books and numerous articles on critical pedagogies, teacher education, and gender issues in education. Additionally, Dr. Fischman serves on several editorial boards and is the Associate Editor of Reseñas Educativas/Education Review and Archivos Analíticos de Políticas Educativas/Education Policy Analysis Archives. Gustavo E. Fischman received his Ph.D. in Social Sciences and Comparative Education from the University of California, Los Angeles.
