EU FP7 SEE-GRID-SCI project applications are presented and briefly described. The application belongs to three types of Virtual organizations: Seismology, Meteorology and Environmental. Every application has its specific goals and particularities of grid implementation. The analysis of applications development status in first year of project demonstrates that a number of applications already have some versions deployed or being tested successfully on the SEE-GRID infrastructure.

In the paper described directions of distributed and high performance computing (HPC) technologies integration. Presented analysis of trends in the development of computer technologies, which focused on creating conditions for solving complex problems with high demands of computing resources. The result of these studies is the following conclusion: the main development directions focused on integration of distributed Grid and parallel HPC facilities on the base of virtualization paradigm within integrated Cloud infrastructure in order to expand the range of opportunities for end-users by providing heterogeneous computing resources. Perspectives of utilization of Cloud technologies for integration of Grid and HPC clusters in heterogeneous computer infrastructures that are offering effective resources and end-user interfaces are considering.

In recent years distributed information processing and high-performance computing technologies (HPC, distributed Cloud and Grid computing infrastructures) for solving complex tasks with high demands of computing resources are actively developing. In Moldova the works on creation of high-performance and distributed computing infrastructures were started relatively recently due to participation in implementation of a number of international projects. Research teams from Moldova participated in a series of regional and pan-European projects that allowed them to begin forming the national heterogeneous computing infrastructure, get access to regional and European computing resources, and expand the range and areas of solving tasks.

The problem of storage and visualization of medical images collected by various medical equipment is actual for latest 10 years for every medical institution. On the other hand, access to the medical investigation datasets and solving the problem of personal patient data security is important for scientific community and institutions that require this data. "DICOM Network" project was developed for solving these problems for different actors in the system based on the various customized roles. This article describes the problems and possible solutions for optimization of medical images storing, providing stable and secure access, based on the distributed warehouse for huge volumes of data with different levels of access. .

Over the past several years the dependence of scientific research on access to large-scale computing and other e-Infrastructures services is rapidly increasing. e-Infrastructure designates a new generation of integrated ICT based infrastructures and is widely considered as a key enabler for scientific and social development. Such infrastructures are oriented to support a distributed medium based on high-bandwidth networks, respective data repositories and distributed computing infrastructures, such as Grids, High Performance Computing (HPC) systems, Clouds. All Eastern Partnership Countries (EaP) are deploying national e-Infrastructure components via collaborative initiatives based on European models. The main aim of this article is to introduce the status of e-infrastructures in the EaP countries emphasizing on networking and computational facilities, e-services and international collaboration. The overview of network infrastructures operated by the National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) and the computational and storage resources provided by the National Grid Initiatives (NGIs) are introduced including its collaborations with the pan-European research and education network GÉANT [1] and Grid infrastructures [2]. The key research applications and services are presented covering a wide range of scientific disciplines, such as particle physics, life sciences and computational chemistry, earth and climate sciences, astronomy and cosmology, computational engineering, etc.
