sleepthrough
A downloadable game for Windows
sleepthrough
Another sleepless night...
I just lay here, in my bed,
with my mind stuck by a fear I can't define.
I've tried everything... from pills to hypnosis.
All I can get are brief moments of unconsciousness.
I think there's something wrong with my brain.
It all began when I started to play this game...
Explore nightmarish environments.
Solve eerie puzzles.
Seek answers to unknown questions.

I FINALLY got around to playing this game, and it was so good! It reminded me a lot of "Our Place", "Lyssophobia" and "Look at me", and I really enjoyed those games too. I loved the look and feel of the game, and I loved how the atmosphere managed to be tense, creepy and lonely at the same time.
Thank you! ๐ Happy to hear you liked it. ๐
Captures the feelings of insomniacs and somniphobes perfectly. Kinda trippy and also fun to play ^_^
Thank you!
Hey there, I am not sure if you're still active on this platform but I just recently played your game for Halloween lol and I gotta say.... it was a real treat
Thank you! ๐
And sure I am active on itchio! ๐
Why shouldn't I be? ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Gave it a go...
Thanks! ๐
If you wish to try my latest game (just released) take a look here:
https://approductions.itch.io/damascus-current
Enjoy! ๐
A good game. We enjoyed it very much.
Here is a short video we made while playing:
Keep up the good work!!!Thank you! ๐
Played a bit for my channel. Thanks for making this creative, nostalgic game! Best of luck on future projects.
Thank you.
man .. it's awesome i got the chills from the freakn doll XD
Thank you! ๐
I'm glad you enjoyed the nightmarish journey "sleepthrough" is. ๐
I think it's still among my best releases ever.
Thanks for the video! ๐
Good game, but I struggle to record a "let's try and play" for it because Bandicam always stops at the octopus bit. Really wish it would run in windowed mode rather than fullscreen.
That's odd. There are tons of sleepthrough's let's plays and never got this kind of issue reported.
I don't think it has anything to do with the fullscreen mode, since it's just an enlarged version of an "almost" windowed one: just go to %appdata% and look for a "sleepthrough" folder, inside it there's a "Data" folder containing another sleepthrough.exe .
Run that "exe" to play the game, still fullscreen, but with its original resolution (you'll see framing borders around the game's screen).
I'm quite positive you can trim the borders in the editing phase.
Anyway, my best guess would be a CPU overload (since bandicam is quite resources demanding), so try running the game through your GPU, or the other way round (I mean with your CPU) if you're already using the GPU.
Again, that's a weird issue, so I think there has to be some tweaking required on your side. ๐
that was interesting!!
Thank you! And don't forget to check out my latest game (which got released today!):
On the balcony, here: https://approductions.itch.io/on-the-balcony
It completes a "conceptual trilogy" along with sleepthrough and Our place.
Thanks again for the video! ๐
sure! i'll check it out and give it a try!
Loved it! The environments were beautiful!
Thank you! ;)
Very interesting, personally loved the Japanese. Thanks!
Really neat stuff, certainly your best in my opinion (at least of those that I've played). Very atmospheric.
Nice game man! Enjoyed the atmosphere and the tension, especially that little gift you left next to the room with the safe, overall 'twas a good fun :) Just wanted some more spooks though
I'm a little late but I made a video:
if you want to check, buona fortuna col prossimo compare!
Well, I prefer "creepiness" to "spookiness". ;D
You can forgot a scare just after one day (or worst, get used to it), but you're gonna remember the overall atmosphere for a much longer time.
Somewhere else (maybe under another let's play video) I wrote a wordly comment explaining how the fear to be scared is much more powerful than the scare itself.
I think that's the common point of many good horror games.
Anyway, glad you liked it! E grazie per il video! ๐
This game was surprisingly creepy and trippy. I played this game looking for a relaxing experience but I was sooo wrong. The game starts to spook you even from the start. The ambience cleverly adds to the atmosphere of the game and helps the player get fully immersed for a wonderful experience. The only complaint I have about this game would have to be the puzzles. Some of the items you needed to advance in the game were either too small or blended really well with the surroundings. Other than that, this game is a must play. I highly recommend you download right now and play for yourself. Wearing headphones and having the lights off is recommended for the best experience.
If you want, you can watch my playthrough of the game down below:
If you liked what you saw and want to see more, here's the link to my channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOV9fchBNTrCAzZpW...
The only complaint I had about this is that sometimes, the clickable items you needed to advance we so small and so well blended in that you couldn't see them. You just had to hope you got lucky and accidentally dragged your mouse over it.
Other than that, it was fantastic! I really enjoyed and I hope you do too
Finally! Finally! The BIGGEST project by Andrea Pignataro Productions! i finally played it, i really enjoyed it, took me a while to find the blanket and the pillow, but now i see why a lot of let's players like me liked this game! Andrea, seriously enjoyed it, and you deserve being well known on the internet, anyway, without further ado, my video :
Get your popcorn, sit back and enjoy!
Thank you for your kind words! ๐
I'm glad you keep enjoying my games. That means so much to me. ๐
Thanks again! ๐๐
hey Andrea, don't wanna ruin the plot but...do you think 13 years old is mature enough to play "sleepthrough" and "the corpse in the window" ?
Well, that's a tough question.
I think that (visually and content speaking) a 13 years old boy can be mature enough to play them.
But, maybe (and this is absolutely a personal matter), 13 years aren't enough to have lived through all the experiences that may relate with the games' stories.
The contents (apart from being occasionally scary, spooky and creepy) are pretty safe for you to play, but, as I said, the plot comprehension may not be fully relatable at your age.
In any case, just play them. :)
... but remember: it's strange stuff. ;)
Hey Andrea, got good news! "sleepthrough" is finally downloaded! i am prepare the recording equipment and do the let's play, i also downloaded your new game "the corpse in the window" and "the hair on the wall", i will let's play these too!
Keep them games coming, man! Peace.
Great! Thank you!
"The Hair In The Wall" is a very early game of mines. Every other game that came out after it was in a way or another affected by the experience I made on that short, experimental horror game.
Even if I believe that the visual heights that "sleepthrough" reached are still the most refined thing I've ever made, I think that "The Corpse Behind The Window" has a much stronger emotional value based, above all, on dialogues and music (which is part of the mirror project "Shapes" available on bandcamp here).
Anyway, that was just a suggestion for a possible video order.
Feel free to release them the way you want... ;)
Thanks again for your support! ๐๐โ๏ธ
Awesome game! Thank you!
Thanks to you too!
BTW, I've just released The Corpse Behind The Window, it's quite different from sleepthrough... but if you like the kind of experiences I create... give it a try. ;)
Enjoy!
Hey Andrea, i gotta say something, i wanna play "sleepthrough" but for some reason my computer can't download it, can you tell me what up with that if you know ? Thanks!
Also if it happens that the game download, i will play it of course!
I don't know, try changing browser, on google chrome I've absolutely no issues downloading it.
Or perhaps it's an antivirus issue, even if, after thousands of download (and let's play too), this would be the very first time I hear about such a thing.
Also, the packing and the engine used is the same of all my other games... so I can't see any valid reason for this happening.
ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Hi there! I just uploaded a playthrough of your game. I had even more fun playing this than I did Five Minutes a Day! Thank you for making it! And I hope you end up making more! :)
Thank you for playing it! :D
About my future projects.... well...
I can't reveal anything yet... but something's cooking! ;)
Stay tuned!
I want a mac version of this :)
Hello, I Really enjoyed this game ! i uselessly into the whole point and click game but i really loved it ! I Would love to see more of this type of games ! maybe a Part 2 ? :) i had no troubles with the puzzles :D The only thing i was worrying about was the part with the puzzle in the red room :D but i had i right :D So hope u make some more parts of this game :D But the only thing that i don't understand is when u enter the Second Chapter ( I believe it is the second chapter when u enter the factory ) the 2 static things that moved out of the way there what are those and why are they there?
Here is my play-through ! it a long one so pick up your popcorn and or snacks ! and don't forgot to leave a like while your at it :D
Thank you!
I was already considering a sequel... only time will tell. ;)
I'm gonna watch and (surely) like your video.
About the moving "things" in the factory, I don't know (yet) if you got the whole game's plot (I'll know after watching the video) but just let's say that in dreams there might be some events' shadows stuck in our mind. And that was exactly the cause of the main character's oneiric "visions".
Anyway, I'm glad you've enjoyed it!๐
Thanks again and bye!๐
I can't pass through tentacle part :c the red noise stays forever.
It's not something that has ever happened to anyone who played it before.
Make sure your PC meets the minimum system requirements and that you're using the latest version of the game.
There's nothing strange in that part (technically speaking).
If you're using your GPU to play the game, switch to the internal CPU. Or vice versa.
It's strange, but switching GPU helped me. Thanks!
Hi there. I've played your game on my channel,
I wanted horror, wasn't expecting a point-and-click. However it really made me think, a lot. And I don't brains well with puzzles however that basic human desire of knowledge, wanting to know more about what's happening, kept me enthralled. Some of the items to find for puzzles were very sneakily hidden and took me a long ass time to find, but for the most part I really enjoyed this.
If you, the author, see this, could you answer something for me? Watch the video, and at the section where the tenticle thing is, was I right with my theory?
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. ๐
About the tentacle part, well, you were just gonna find an empty room if the pipe was not pushed in yet.
So, don't worry, you didn't miss anything important.
All in all, it was a really nice playthrough. ๐
Again, thanks for the video!
Bye! ๐๐โ๏ธ
Hello again! I played SleepThrough and it was just amazing! I've read the comments you've left for others who have played and made videos and I definitely took away something completely different from the game. I guess I didn't quite put the pieces together like others have, but I certainly didn't enjoy it any less! (And reading the comments afterward, I can definitely understand the game better.)
Thank you!
Don't worry about it. The game is specifically designed to stimulate plot thinking even after you've played it.
So, it's all right! ๐
The most important thing is that you've enjoyed it. And this, for a developer, is much more rewarding than a correct theorization.
Again, thanks for the video! You absolutely deserve more subs.
Bye! ๐๐โ๏ธ
P.S. As you can see, I slightly edited your comment to include an embedded version of your video.
I tried to do the embedded but it didn't work right, so I just put the link in. Thank you again and I look forward to whatever you come up with next! :)
Really enjoyed this game! It was such an interesting experience! Can't wait to see what else you produce!
Thank you!
I'm glad you liked it!
By the way, your final interpretation isn't wrong at all.
You've experienced exactly what the ending's words are hinting to.
And the overall picture helps you to pinpoint the images linked to the trasformations that marked the girl's life.
It's a tactful way to show her nightmares that, as you may have guessed, have been sparked by a very personal grief.
The blurred line between reality and dream is the key to unlock the mystery.
Again, nothing is there by chance. The game's "lore" is strongly engraved in the recurring symbols and imageries.
I like to see the process to reach the truth as an important part of the gameplay. It's what keeps your brain active even after the game's ending, in the same way a good book or a movie can.
Maybe, this is why my games stand out so much. ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Anyway, thanks again for the video!
Bye! ๐๐โ๏ธ
Seriously one of the more interesting point and click games I've played. I like the art style behind it and how the story progresses. There's a lot of theories I want to draw from it but I don't know which one is right!!
Here's my playthrough either way: Thanks for creating this awesome work of art!
Thank you so much for the video!
I'm very happy for all the love "sleepthrough" is getting. Yours too!
As I've already (somehow) stated in the game's description, nothing is there by chance.
The whole plot is subtly hinted by the same recurring symbols and imageries that made you ponder about their meaning.
The doll, the man in the lighthouse, the hand and all the other eerie images, were not placed to scare, but rather to represent the fearful transformations that marked the girl's life.
Let's just say that the key to unlock the mystery... is right there, all the time.
And the ending words shed a light toward the truth.
Anyway, thanks again for this amazing video!
I really like your style. ;)
Bye! ๐๐โ๏ธ
Very well done to the creator! Even though the game is made up of "still images", it is a visual and audible overload, which I absolutely love! The story is unique and I loved the accents! :) And if you get lost for too long, the game assists you. Overall, a very well made game! :) If you are interested in seeing what the game is about or would just like to see an interesting let's play; please feel free to watch my let's play of this game. :)
Thank you! That was a really flawless playthrough!
You even found an Easter egg ("AP")... out of three. ;)
There's a major one in the red circular hallway. Look carefully at the holes in the wall...
Anyway, great video!
Thanks again!
Man this is a crazy and well crafted game. The graphics and art style is well done, the sound design is amazing and perfect for the world, and the story is well written in engaging. I've played Andrea's last few games (Widemare and That Spongy thing on your Tongue) and I have to say I love his style of story and writing. He does such a good job at keeping the player guessing on what it is you are going to do next. I found myself constantly asking the question of "What is happening" for it to be explained soon after. There are a lot of twists and turns in Sleepthrough and some I never would of expected which is a great part of its design. I have to say I can't wait to check out his next title and what he has in store. His games are always a treat to play and they always leave me thinking about the story after I have played through. I did a video on my experience with the game if anyone is interested and I highly suggest playing it for yourself as well.
Thank you for your amazing video!
I slightly edited your comment to enable the embedding on your video.
I'll be quick, 'cause I've already wrote a "wall-of-text" comment under your video. XD
Thanks again and bye!
Andrea, this game is amazing, it's obscure, unique and has such good atmosphere. I can see why this is your most biggest project you've worked on yet! and even though I've played quite a few of your games now, this one is your best by far and my most favorite too :P I always look forward to playing your games now because I never know what to expect, you keep on surprising me, and they get stranger every time and I like that. In fact I've enjoy the games that I've played from you that much, that I created a Playlist dedicated to your projects! :)
You did a great job sir! here's the video! enjoy! ^_^
Thank you! I edited your comment a bit to make your video be shown in embedded mode.
Now it's much easier to watch. ;)
Thanx again!
Hey man, best game from you yet, I was excited to play it and it didn't disappoint.
I love point and clicks and I love your weird surreal style, and this was the best of both worlds. Really nice visuals, no bugs, good stuff mate. Kudos.
I made a Lumps Play, of course!
Cheers, mate.
Thank you for the video!
It's an awesome thing to see all this appreciation for a work into which I put a lot of effort.
I'm glad you liked it!
Hello! How long is this game to beat?
It heavily depends on how much time you need to solve all the puzzles, but, for first time players, let's say about an hour (as it's stated in the "More information" box).
Even more time may be needed if you want to discover all the Easter eggs hidden inside it.
A suggestion I like to give is to not rush things up. Every tiny particular is part of the experience.
Take your time and enjoy the story.
Sounds good! Andrea, how I could contact you by email or maybe on FaceBook? :)
