Indigenous knowledge is regarded as the heritage and property of every nation. However, the resurgence of interest in the study and preservation of this knowledge is only recent. Since the globalization is changing the scenario of the world therefore, it is crucial time for the exploration and protection of this national heritage to keep pace with emerging international trends and treaties. In this perspective, ?Plant Based Indigenous Knowledge in U. P. State of India? is an excellent asset to furnish a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge on the subject in quite fascinating and lucid manner with the objective to ensure deeper understanding of the subject and its scope; to codify the plant based indigenous knowledge to prevent biopiracy; to present folk knowledge in scientific way understandable to experts and common man and to attract interdisciplinary scholars to facilitate further research and development in the subject. It is the ardent hope of author that this book will immensely help the students of economic botany, ethnobotany; Ayurvedic, Unani and Siddha disciplines of medicines; scientists involved in R & D activities and general readers for their interests and benefits.

In nature subordination of organic beings in groups under groups is an established fact rather than an artifact. As against the abiotic things, the living beings exhibit a state of dynamism due to the influence of infinite evolutionary forces represented in the form of plasticity or variability within and between the groups which demands peculiar flexibility in circumscribing the different categories of taxonomic hierarchy to meet the special requirements of biological classification. This organic plasticity and flexibility demands in the classification has resulted lots of subjective judgments and concepts causing several misconceptions and controversies regarding the taxonomic categories. In this respect the general principles of systematics that constitute the rachis of the subject and soul of taxonomy are of utmost importance and their ignorance will otherwise be like crying in the wilderness. It is gratifying that this volume in such a simple, illustrative and lucid manner is totally committed to clarify the underlying principles of plant systematic with special reference to the current trends in taxonomy and furnishes comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge in the discipline.
This is latest classification of living world in 21st century proposed by me.
