Conditions
All participants and attendees of Typographics events must agree with the following conditions. If you do not agree to these conditions, do not register or attend any Typographics events.
These conditions apply to all Typographics events, including events that are online, in-person, paid, free, talks, workshops, tours, social events, etc.
Covid Safety
Typographics events are subject to The Cooper Union’s current Covid-19 guest policy. Participants of all in-person Typographics events must show proof of complete Covid-19 vaccination and booster, and must wear a CDC-recommended mask (disposable surgical, KN95, KF94, or N95) while indoors. Cloth masks alone are not permitted, but may be worn as a second layer over a disposable surgical mask.
Code of Conduct
Please be respectful of all present. Typographics is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. Harassment includes offensive comments or behavior related to gender, age, sexual orientation, mental or physical abilities, appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion or lack thereof, technology choices, deliberate intimidation, stalking, unwarranted photography or recording, sustained disruption of events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form. Event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from events without a refund at the discretion of the Typographics organizers. Sponsors, presenters, hosts, and instructors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the Typographics staff immediately. Typographics staff will be happy to help participants contact security or local law enforcement or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the events. We value your attendance.
Need help? Contact cara@cooper.edu, or ask any Typographics staff or security to assist. Typographics staff and security at in-person events can be identified by their badges.
Policies
Registration
Event registration is handled through Eventbrite. Registration allows the designated individuals to attend all official sessions for that event. Only the registered individuals may attend the event.
You are agreeing to pay for event registration appropriate to you. Student tickets to the Conference are for those currently enrolled as full-time college students and will be asked to present their student ID card at check-in. Likewise, educator conference tickets are intended for those currently employed by a school. A very limited number of one-day passes for professionals will be available after May 17th space permitting.
Documentation
Typographics events may be photographed, livestreamed, and/or recorded by the event organizers. By registering or attending Typographics events you are granting your explicit permission to The Cooper Union to be recorded and potentially published.
Refunds
To withdraw registration from an event, please contact us via Eventbrite within in the period of time stated for the type of ticket. Refunds are not available for payments that were specified as non-refundable during registration. If an event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances or low enrollment, registration costs will be refunded minus the non-refundable service fee from Eventbrite.
Refunds will be issued by the same means payment was made. No refunds will be given after the deadline of 30 days prior for Conference tickets or after the deadline of 5 days prior for other events.
Transfers
You may transfer event tickets to another person who qualifies for the same ticket type by emailing type@cooper.edu. Tickets for the main conference may be transferred up to May 30th, 2022. Tickets for all other events may be transferred up to one business day before the start of the event. Please supply the name, affiliation, and email address of the new person when making a transfer request. Eventbrite ticketing fees are non-refundable.
Additional Fees
If your participation in an event requires additional purchases that are not easily refundable (e.g. travel costs, accommodations, supplies, software), it is recommended you contact the organizers to confirm there will be sufficient enrollment to run the event before making such purchases. The Cooper Union, Type@Cooper, and Typographics are not responsible for expenses incurred to participate in events beyond the standard registration fees.
