Severe Thunderstorms in the High Plains; Heavy Rainfall in the Mid-Atlantic

An Enhanced Risk (level 3 of 5) of severe thunderstorms is forecast across portions of the Central High Plains this afternoon. Severe wind gusts up to 70 mph and large hail will be possible. While PTC Eight has dissipated, additional heavy to excessive rainfall will be possible today across the Mid-Atlantic, especially in southeastern Virginia. Read More >

 

Some NOAA Weather Radio stations broadcast Tsunami warnings and alerts. The maps below show the Tsunami alerting areas and nearby stations that broadcast Tsunami warnings and alerts for Tsunami alerting areas.

Tsunami Alerts broadcast over NWR include Tsunami Watches, Advisories and Warnings. NWS has generated maps of NWR coverage overlayed with existing tsunami alerting areas that correspond with NWS public weather forecast zones. Tsunami alerting areas are displayed in pink and NWR broadcast areas displayed in green.
