 We are agents for the well known British cutter makers      P. P. Thornton (Successors) Ltd.  We can supply Horological Wheel & pinion cutters in cycloidal form to British Standard 978 part 2.

The cutters listed in the chart below are only available in High Speed Steel. Most are made to give square bottoms to the teeth, which is ideal for restoration work. Some cutters are available to cut round bottoms to the wheel or pinion, ( this is the root of the tooth is curved ) and some with short form ( the cutter cuts less deeply ).

The cutters are made by form relieving and are re-sharpenable, they must be kept very sharp to get the best results .

All cutters below Mod. 0.20 are round bottomed.

Fine tooth Recoil cutters are made in 7 sizes, covering French to lantern clock escape wheels. Prices:-  £44.50 each Plus VAT.

Deadbeat Escape Wheel Cutters

Four sizes of deadbeat cutters are available. Prices:- £44.50 each plus VAT.

Musical Box Worm Wheel Cutters

These are available in six sizes 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, £52.25 each plus VAT.

Other cutters

Straight Ratchet cutters 60 & 70 degree angle, for ratchet wheels, the teeth of which are not radiused. Prices:- PPT07 £52.25 plus VAT.

Radiused Ratchet cutters, these are available to cut a radius of 6mm, 9mm, or 13.5mm.
Prices:- PPT08 £44.50 plus VAT.
