Exploring Moab

Moab, Utah is in the high desert of southern Utah. The area around the town has become a hugely popular playground for outdoor enthusiasts. With two nearby national parks (Canyonlands and Arches), the Colorado River, gorgeous rock formations and world class trails, Moab is a magnet for adventure seekers.

Specifically, Moab is great place to ride a mountain bike. Trails there are challenging, but offer incredible traction on the smooth ancient red rock that dominates the landscape. If you have never been to southern Utah, Google Earth can give you an idea of the unusual colors of the terrain there. To this end, open these placemarks to check out the following locations (Google Earth required):
  • Slickrock Mountain Bike Trail
  • Arches National Park
  • Canyonlands National Park
You can check out other cool Moab locations by checking "Featured Content" in the Places panel. This allows you to view features in nearby Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.
