- فورست كوري باري بالإنجليزية : Forrest Corry Parry (ولد في 4 يوليو 1921 – وتوفي 31 ديسمبر 2005) هو مهندس شركة آي بي إم الذي ابتكر المُستخدمة في بطاقات الائتمان وشارات الهوية. ولد فورست باري في مدينة سيدار بولاية يوتاه لإدوارد باري ومارجريت باري. وقد إلتحق فورست بكلية الزراعة في (BAC) (التي أصبحت الآن جامعة جنوب يوتاه ) في مدينة سيدار قبل دخوله الأكاديمية البحرية الأمريكية في أنابوليس ، ماريلاند، في عام 1942. وتخرج من الأكاديمية البحرية في يونيو 1945، وعندما بدأت الحرب الكورية في عام 1950 ، عمل باري في كمساعد أول وضابط مراقبة أضرار. وبعد إصابة الحاملة بطوربيد أو لغم عائم أدى ذلك إلى مقتل 26 بحارًا وإصابة 40 شخصًا، تمت بعدها مكافئة باري بنجمة برونزية . - Forrest Corry Parry (July 4, 1921 – December 31, 2005) was the IBM engineer who invented the magnetic stripe card used for credit cards and identification badges. Parry was born in Cedar City, Utah to Edward H. Parry and Marguerite C. Parry. Forrest attended the Branch Agricultural College (BAC) now Southern Utah University, in Cedar City before entering the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md, in 1942. He graduated from the Naval Academy in June 1945. When the Korean War began in 1950, Parry served on the USS Walke as First Lieutenant and Damage Control Officer. After the Walke was hit by a torpedo or floating mine which killed 26 sailors and wounded 40, Parry was awarded a Bronze Star with Valor. (en)
