- Dan I. (* 1354 – † 23. září 1386, Vidin, Bulharsko) byl kníže Valašského knížectví. Okolnosti jeho nástupu na trůn nejsou známy. Během své vlády začal razit nové valašské mince – dukáty – s hmotností 0,50 gramů. Dohady se vedou i kolem jeho smrti. Pravděpodobně umřel 23. září 1386 ve Vidině v boji proti bulharskému carovi Ivanovi Sracimirovi. (cs)
- Dan I (1354 – 23 September 1386) was the ruler of Wallachia from 1383 to 1386. He was the son of Radu I of Wallachia and the step-brother of Mircea I of Wallachia. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Laonikos Chalkokondyles claims that he was assassinated by his stepbrother Mircea I in collusion with a boyar party. However, the Anonymous Bulgarian Chronicle states that Dan I was assassinated during a campaign fought between 1384-1386 against Ivan Shishman of Tarnovo, who was backed by the Ottomans, purportedly in favour of his half-brother Ivan Sratsimir of Vidin, but ultimately part of the early Wallachian rulers' attempts to expand their rule south of the Danube. Dan I's descendants were members of the House of Dăneşti, one of the two factions descended from Basarab I, that were claimants to the voivodeship of the Principality of Wallachia in subsequent centuries. The other rival faction was the House of Drăculeşti. (en)

Dan I was de woiwode die de werkingen aan het voltooide. Het is onduidelijk hoe Dan I overleden is. Volgens sommigen, waaronder vooral de Bulgaren, overleed Dan op 23 september 1386 in een gevecht tegen Bulgarije dat geholpen werd door de Ottomanen. Zijn broer Mircea cel Bătrân was zijn opvolger. Objąwszy tron po śmierci ojca, utrzymywał sojusz z Węgrami i prowadził walki na południowym brzegu Dunaju z zamiarem opanowania Tyrnowa, stolicy naciskanego od południa przez Turków bułgarskiego cara Iwana Szyszmana. Początkowo odnosił pewne sukcesy, wkrótce jednak poległ w walce. W 1385 potwierdził dokonane przez jego wuja Władysława nadanie 40 rodzin cygańskich klasztorowi Świętemu Antoniego w Wodicy; jest to pierwsza wzmianka na temat Cyganów na terenie dzisiejszej Rumunii. Był ojcem hospodara Dana II oraz być może hospodara Włada I Uzurpatora. Tron objął po nim brat Mircza Stary. (pl)
