- Das Gymnasium Casimirianum Coburg ist ein Gymnasium in Coburg, Bayern. Es wurde im Jahre 1605 gegründet und nach dem Schulstifter Herzog Johann Casimir von Sachsen-Coburg (1564–1633) benannt. Heute ist das Casimirianum ein sprachliches und humanistisches Gymnasium mit der Sprachenfolge Latein ab fünfter, Englisch ab sechster Klasse und Italienisch, Altgriechisch, Französisch oder Spanisch als dritte Wahlpflichtfremdsprache. Seit dem Schuljahr 2019/20 ist auch die umgekehrte Reihenfolge, Englisch ab der fünften, Latein ab der sechsten Klasse, möglich. Mit dem Schuljahr 2009/10 wurde das Profil um einen naturwissenschaftlich-technologischen Zweig mit Latein als erster Fremdsprache erweitert. Die Schule nahm am Schulversuch Europäisches Gymnasium teil und ist (vorläufig bis 2015) eine von 44 MODUS21-Modellschulen. Seit dem 19. Oktober 2015 ist das Casimirianum offizielles Mitglied im Aktionsbündnis „Schule ohne Rassismus – Schule mit Courage“. Das älteste Gymnasium Coburgs besitzt eine Schülerverbindung. Die Casimiriana ist eine im Jahr 1861 gegründete unpolitische und selbstständige Verbindung von Schülern und ehemaligen Schülern des Casimirianums. Das Burschenband hat die Farben Schwarz-Gold-Grün. Das Fuxenband die Farben Gold-Grün. Beide haben eine Goldene Perkussion. Die Mütze ist Grün. (de)

Today the Casimirianum is a linguistic and humanistic high school with the curriculum including Latin from 5th Grade, English from 6th Grade, and Italian, Greek, French or Spanish as the third compulsory foreign language. With the school year of 2009–10, the program was expanded with a scientific-technological branch with Latin as a second language. The Casimirianum was once involved with a German pilot program, "The European Gymnasium" and was one of 44 Model Schools of "MODUS21", but both programs were closed by 2009. (en)
