- Battle of Zsibó (Hungarian: Zsibói csata, German: Schlacht bei Siben, Romanian: Bătălia de la Jibou) was fought on 15 November 1705 between the Kuruc (Hungarian) army (supported by French contingents) and forces of the Habsburg Empire, Kingdom of Denmark and Vojvodian Serbs in Zsibó, Principality of Transylvania (today: Jibou, Romania). The Austrian marshal marched against Transylvania. Although the Kuruc-French army was equal in size to the combined Austrian, Danish and Serbian forces, Francis II Rákóczi went on the defense due to the inferior training of his troops. The Danes and Austrians launched a powerful attack on the French and Kuruc infantry. Although the Kuruc infantry held its ground, the Kuruc cavalry could not launch an attack due to a lack of leadership and an overly muddy battlefield. The Austrian cavalry was thus capable of flanking the Hungarians on the left, forcing the Hungarians to retreat and crushing their cavalry in the process. After the battle, the combined Austrian-Danish army bought Transylvania. (en)
- La battaglia di Zsibó (detta anche Battaglia di Siben in tedesco o battaglia di Jibou in romeno), fu una battaglia combattuta il 15 novembre 1705 tra i kuruc ungheresi (supportati da alcuni contingenti francesi) e le forze del Sacro Romano Impero, del Regno di Danimarca e voivodati serbi di Jibou e del Principato di Transilvania. Il maresciallo austriaco marciò contro la Transilvania e sebbene l'esercito kuruc-francese fosse di egual misura alle forze austriache, danesi e serbe combinate insieme, Francesco II Rákóczi si pose in difesa per il minore allenamento delle sue truppe. I danesi e gli austriaci lanciarono dunque un potente attacco alla fanteria franco-ungherese e, per quanto la fanteria cadde quasi subito, la cavalleria pur pronta non poté lanciare il proprio attacco per la mancanza di leadership appropriata alla situazione e per il campo di battaglia acquitrinoso.
