- Adminship extended permanently -- Cheers, Riley Huntley 00:03, 28 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Nomination statement: Hello everyone, I'm Wiki13 and I was appointed as temporary admin in the early days of this wiki. The things I did in my period as temporary admin included deleting of duplicates, translating of tools in the MediaWiki namespace and blocking of spambots. Vandalism is now on a low level, but that will change when Wikidata phase 1 comes to the English Wikipedia. I would like, if I get reconfirmed as admin, help with that transition. I will use the tools the same way as I did until now. If I get too inactive on Wikidata because of being busy in real life or any other reason I will resign myself. --Wiki13 talk 16:27, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Reconfirm Wiki13 is one of the reasons that none of the other candidates have a very high number of logged actions. I think he's got some elaborate setup where whenever a deletion request goes up, it calls his cell phone or something. There's no other way to explain his response time. I honestly can't give any commentary on his interactions because I haven't seen them, but I certainly haven't come across or heard of any problems with this user. Sven Manguard Wha? 00:45, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Well, I'm not using any other device than my laptop right here. I'm just idling in countervandalism channel of Wikidata (#cvn-wikidataconnect). All edits to the RfD page are reported there. I'm not 100% on it all the time, as I also do SWMT work and stuff at my homewiki (Dutch Wikipedia). Regards, Wiki13 talk 15:17, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have created a gadget for Wikidata, slurpInterwiki, and I would like to keep my administrator right in order to be able to edit this gadget and to create new ones when the phase 2 will be launched. I'm busy IRL so I haven't contribute a lot to Wikidata but I'll try to work more on it when phase 2 will be deployed. I contribute also a few to the Wikibase extension. - Nomination statement:
I was really active in early days on Wikidata, trying to import many articles of Spanish Wikipedia and translating the description in Spanish. In the begining of Wikidata, I haven't do administrative actions, but now (with some bots running), I see more duplicated articles and with sysop rights, I deleted some articles. As I think, this project needs sysops from every language (not only english speakers), I'm interested to continue with rights in Wikidata (I want to work in the phase 2 and confirm the data with sources in spanish countries: Chile, Argentina, España, etc.). If Superzerocool becomes active again in the future and has a need for the sysop flag, I would be glad to support. Ajraddatz (Talk) 00:18, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am one of the biggest supporters in the Italian community of this project, and I'm also an admin on Italian Wikipedia (which on Jan 30 will be the second/third beta tester, along with Hebrew Wikipedia). As all the other temp admins, I did little until now since there's a low level of vandalism, but I do share the idea that vandalisms will raise when we'll launch phase 2. Also, I worked a lot with items from it.wikipedia, I'm still trying to do my best with the itwiki import task force (there's such an awful lot of work that one can only try to do his/her best!), and I also involved in translations of guidelines and other useful stuff. I am supporting wikidata since summer 2012. I have done many testings and reported many bugs and feature requests to the developers team. Since June 2012 i have extended my interwikibot MerlIwBot for importing wikidata items. It was first working on the test wiki for several months and after wikidata.org was live here, too. Improving my bots, solving interwiki conflicts and correcting wikidata item is currently the main work i am doing on wikidata.org. Having admin rights makes it easier for me to to do these tasks (for the same reason i am having global editinterface).
Like the other wikis where i am admin my main focus beside the langlinks is the technical wiki administration part. I'll also try to be more active on bot flag requests. Merlissimo (talk) 15:48, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Nomination statement:
If you look at my contributions, you would think that I am not active. And that is correct. I could make excuses for my inactivity, running for arbcom and such, but I highly doubt that will make any difference. What I have to offer, if I was allowed to continue my adminship here, is the ability to be a long sighted admin. I try to read a broad range of the forming policy pages and discussions on a regular basis. Will I log hundreds of admin actions and thousands of edits, no. But, I think that I would be a net positive to the project. If this tanks in the first 24 hours, I will snow close this and turn over my mop at the stewards noticeboard --Guerillero | Talk 17:34, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - While I agree that you'd be a net asset to Wikidata, I would not like adminship to be something that everyone collects and never uses. Adminship should be for those who need it. Ajraddatz (Talk) 00:15, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Each time I edit at the project I check the category for items to be deleted, as well as the request for deletions page, and I go through the recent changes to see if any page is mistakenly been created without content. I am happy if I can help, but I will not do log actions only for log counts and if other users are faster than me, it is fine. The goal is to maintain the project, and as this project seems relatively well developed, not that much entries are wrong, so we all are around the same small fishing water. I requested the admin flag for being able to help, with interwikis, and as more data will be added to the project, certainly concerning infoboxes and population data (as that is currently my work on the Dutch Wikipedia), I still want be able to help then. If I currently encounter non complete items I try to complete them otherwise I delete them, and with editing the thousands of pages I haven't seen much items with problems. Hi there, yes, it's obvious I'm not that active right now. I didn't know I'd have to undergo a re-vote or I wouldn't have applied to be an admin at the beginning. I am waiting for the second phase (?) for the project - I've gotten a bit bored with the tasks and there isn't enough action for me to feel like I'm really useful at this point. For those of you not active on enwp, or who haven't read through all of en:WP:200 out of boredom, it's worth noting that Sarah had an unopposed RFA, which is considerably rarer there than it is here. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 13:53, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- This is not Wikipedia. I don't think that what a Wikidata user does on one of our sister projects is particularly relevant to their adminship vote here on Wikidata now. --Yair rand (talk) 05:16, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I would consider adminship on any other project a substantial (but not absolute) indication of trust.--Jasper Deng (talk) 05:33, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- On principle, I don't really agree with that - smaller wiki adminships don't undergo as much scrutiny, for example. (I'm not saying that all small wiki admins are untrustworthy, but I'm saying this isn't a great comparison). --Rschen7754 05:49, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- So would I, but I think it's still not really much of an argument in favor of adminship here. --Yair rand (talk) 05:39, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- The entire point of having confirmations now was to judge candidates based on their contributions to Wikidata. If we can't achieve this yet, then I'd vote for keeping adminship temporary until we can. Simply put, IMO administrators should be judged by their work here and not elsewhere. If they are not using the tools here, I see no reason why they should keep them, regardless of whether or not they collect hats elsewhere. Ajraddatz (Talk) 12:22, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Exactly. While enwp contribs might indicate that the user is a highly trusted one, it is the activity on the local wiki/wiki in question that needs to be taken into consideration. Three months ago, global contribs could've made a difference as Wikidata was an infant, but today Wikidata is quite large and has managed to build up it's own community proper and thus local activity must precede global activity. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:30, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
