***Note: Cargo space is not guaranteed and varies by vehicle body type. The guidelines here refer to the maximum size for checked luggage, which is 62 linear inches or 158 linear centimeters (length + width + depth). You’ll need less space if you have only carry-on baggage. We recommend contacting your driver after requesting to find out whether you and your luggage will fit, and getting more than one vehicle if needed.
Other common luggage questions
- Will my drivers help me with my luggage?
It’s up to the driver’s discretion. With Uber Black and Elite you can request luggage assistance when selecting your ride. But drivers may not always be able to assist in all circumstances.
- What if all my luggage doesn’t fit?
If all your luggage does not fit, we recommend canceling and requesting a larger ride. You’ll be able to request a refund for ride cancellation fees if they are applied.
Another option is that you or your companion(s) can request a second ride if you feel comfortable splitting up your party.
- How do I request multiple cars?
If you decide to get more than one vehicle because passenger or cargo space might be an issue for your group, the best way to do it is have the Uber account holders in your group request the vehicles you need.
If you're the only person in the group with an Uber account, you can request up to 3 rides on demand at the same time from your account; you can personally request one of the rides, then select 1 or 2 people from your phone's contacts to request the others. Note: Each ride must start before the next one is requested. You can also use Uber Reserve to schedule multiple rides for the future with the same or different pickup and dropoff information.
