Yesterday, we learned the devastating news that another Vanderpump Rules restaurant would be going to the great Villa Rosa in the sky. Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz announced that Schwartz & Sandy’s would be closing at the end of the year. Those two grieved, Katie Maloney made a joke, and Ariana Madix probably laughed while counting all of her money. Meanwhile, Tom Sandoval’s girlfriend, Victoria Lee Robinson, left an intriguing comment on her boyfriend’s Instagram post.
“I’m so proud of you,” Robinson wrote, “If only you were allowed to properly promote the place on the show as planned. If only someone would have allowed you to have access to the shopping center sign that came with the property so people could see it as the place is in a hidden corner.. (which I tried to pay for and surprise you with MULTIPLE times but was turned down).”
Schwartz & Sandy’s opened towards the end of 2022, meaning that the first season they would have been able to “properly promote” the restaurant/lounge would have been the one post-Scandoval. Unfortunately, he was too busy being the villain of that season. It sucks when the consequences of your own actions get in the way of your business. (As for the thing with the sign … that’s not why the restaurant is closing.)
“I mean, you guys don’t even have control of your own Instagram,” Robinson continued, making a good point. The Schwartz & Sandy’s Instagram is weirdly sparse with only seven posts having gone up this year, including their closing notice. Maybe the Toms could have added some life to the feed. “The list goes on and on,” Robinson wrote, “I felt bad from the beginning for the both of you. I love you and I’m here to support you always. Remember people don’t know what goes on behind closed doors and don’t know all the facts. I love you.”
This message absolutely could have (and probably should have) been a heartfelt text, but I’m glad Robinson shared it publicly. The future of VPR is kind of unclear at the moment, and we were all needing a bit of restaurant-adjacent drama. Here’s hoping Something About Her remains safe.
