Purpose
By the end of the course, students
should be able to:
1.Research information relevant to the topic
by evaluating the credibility of sources.
2.Write fully developed essays with accurate
and appropriate references.
3.Acquire the competence to articulate
original viewpoints based on previous
research findings.
Assessment
Exam: 15% Timed-writing
Papers: 75% Paragraph writing (10% X
3) + Essay
writing (15% X 3)
Class Participation: 10% In-class
assignment
Procedure
Week 1-6: Learning Writing Skills/Building
Vocabulary
Week 7-14: Writing Essays (In class and
Homework)
Essay
You will write three types of essay from Week 7:
- Cause and Effect (800 words)
- Compare and Contrast (800 words)
- Argumentative (800 words)
IMPORTANT!!!
Paragraphs and Essays will be submitted on
MOODLE
-We will talk about format in future classes
