  SPEAKING PART- 3
Collaborative Task
               Introduction
• In the PET speaking exam there are 4 parts.
• PET Speaking Part 3 and Part 4 are always
on the same topic, so it is a good idea to
  practise them together.
• PET Speaking Part 3 is a collaborative task
where you discuss options with your partner.
• PET Speaking Part 4 continues on with the
same topic from Part 3, but doesn’t have
  any visual aid.

                      Useful Tips
• Scoring
The Speaking section is worth 25% of the total score for
  the exam.
• How to prepare for B1 Speaking
• Read the instructions carefully before you start each
  section.
• Speak as much as you can, with your friends
• Practise looking at photographs and speaking about them
• Listen! The more English you listen to the better your will
  do.
• Listen to the radio, English language TV, podcasts...
  Tips and Tricks for Preliminary
         (PET) Speaking
• Relax and try to focus on the individual parts of the
exam. If one part is difficult, you can always improve later
  on.
• Be careful with basic vocabulary and grammar. Mistakes
with simple language can cost you points.
• Include some complex language while you are speaking.
If you can use conditionals, relative clauses or passive, you
  might get extra points.
• Don’t forget to interact with the examiner and your
  partner.
• Very short answers are bad! Always extend your
answers with words like and, but, so, because etc.
• If you don’t know a word, think about something different to
say. It is natural to forget vocabulary, but you don’t want to
  lose time.
• Stay positive and friendly. A personal touch makes a big
difference to the impression that you give the examiners.
THANK YOU!
