Chinese and America eating habits
美国人喜欢一日多餐,每餐适量;而中国人传统习惯一日三餐,每餐食量都较大,且
现已开始有不食早餐的风气。
许多中国人习惯每日购买新鲜食品烹饪;美国人往往一次性购买一周的食品贮存在冰
箱里,每日食用冷冻食品,且食用的罐头和腌制品分别为中国人的八倍和六倍。
中国人烹调时喜欢用植物油,美国人则喜欢用含胆固醇较高的动物油。

ese are very proud of their culture of food an

Among friends, they will just order enou
gh for the people there. If they are takin
g somebody out for dinner and the relat
ionship is polite to semi-polite, then the
y will usually order one more dish than t
he number of guests (e.g. four people, f
ive dishes). If it is a business dinner or
a very formal occasion, there is likely to
be a huge amount of food that will be i
mpossible to finish.

→dessert→coffee and fruit 。冷菜、 soup ,同时就着 bre
ad 吃。冷菜也叫开胃小菜,作为第一道菜,一般与开胃酒并用。汤分渍汤和奶油浓汤。
主菜有 fish 、 pork 、 beef 、 chicken 等。 dessert 常有 ice
cream 、 pudding 等。然后是 coffee 或 red tea 。至于水果,可
上可不上。
A typical meal starts with some cold dishes,
like boiled peanuts and smashed cucumber
with garlic. These are followed by the main
courses, hot meat and vegetable dishes.
Finally soup is brought out, which is followed
by the starchy "staple" food, which is usually
rice or noodles or sometimes dumplings.
Many Chinese eat rice (or noodles or
whatever) last, but if you like to have your rice
together with other dishes, you should say so
early on.

粮多。

美国人做菜放盐量只及中国人的一半,而摄入太多食盐有可能在中老年期引发种种疾
病。
美国人做菜不爱放味精——味精含钠,摄入过量有损健康。
美国人不吃猪肝、腰子等内脏,因为动物内脏无一例外地含有高量胆固醇。
美国人喜清蒸食品(营养物破坏较少),而中国则偏爱热炒(营养物破坏较多)。
美国主妇不爱用大火炝锅,厨房通风条件也较好,因而
避免了吸入大量易致肺癌的油烟。
美国人喜一日多餐,这比中国人的一日仅二、三餐科学。
