CHRISTIANITY AS A RELIGION
Christianity is a monotheistic way of
religion. The believers are called as
Christians and they believe that there is
only one God, and He created the heavens
and the earth. This divine Godhead
consists of three parts: the father (God
himself), the son (Jesus Christ) and the
Holy Spirit.
CHRISTIANITY AS A RELIGION
The essence of Christianity revolves around the life,
death, and Christian beliefs on the resurrection of
Jesus Christ.
Christians believe that God sent his only begotten
son Jesus, the Christ, and the messiah, to save the
world. They believe Jesus was crucified on a cross to
offer the forgiveness of sins and was resurrected
three days after his death before ascending to
heaven. Christians contend that Jesus will return to
earth again in what9s known as the Second Coming.
HOLY SCRIPTURE
The Holy Bible includes important
scriptures that outline Jesus teachings, the
lives and teachings of major prophets and
disciples, and offer instructions on how
Christians should live. Moreover, both
Christians and Jews follow the Old
Testament of the Bible, but Christians also
embrace the New Testament.
HOLY SCRIPTURE
The Bible is divided into two major divisions. First is the Old
Testament and the New Testament.
The Old Testament deals with the religious history of the
Israelites before the appearance of the Messiah in the person of
Jesus Christ. It devotes the agreement between God whose
name was Yahweh and the People whose race was the
Israelites.
Second is the New Testament deals with the Christian belief of
the most important event in history. Like the appearance of the
Messiah in the person of Jesus, the Christ, the God who became
a person and proclaimed the Reign or Kingdom of God in His
person, life’s purpose and His words and works. This record is a
covenant of God with the Christians through Jesus Christ.
CHRISTIAN SYMBOLS
Each religion has different symbols and the
cross is a symbol of Christianity.
Also, the most important Christian holidays
are Christmas which celebrates the birth of
Jesus and Easter which commemorates the
resurrection of Jesus.
MORAL CODES
The Ten Commandments or the Decalogue are also
embraced by Christians as God’s law
However instead of the Ten Commandments in the Old
Testament, it has been summarizes into two by Jesus
Christ. When someone asks him, "Which commandment in
the Law is the greatest?" Jesus replies: "You shall love
the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all
your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest
and first commandment.
And second is: You shall love your neighboras
yourself (Mt. 22:37-40).

The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central
mystery of the Christian faith and of Christian life.
God alone can make it known to us by revealing
himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Incarnation of God’s Son reveals that God is
the eternal Father and that Son is consubstantial
with the Father, which means that, in the Father
and with the Father, the Son is one and the same
God.
RESSURECTION
The Christian Creed is the profession of our
faith in God, the Father, the Son, and the
Holy Spirit, and in God's creative, saving,
and sanctifying action culminates in the
proclamation of the resurrection of the
dead on the last day and in life everlasting
