Module 3 Lesson 2
The Go Negosyo Act
In order to support and develop the full potential of MSMEs
in the major cities and municipalities of the country, the so
called Negosyo Centers under the Department of Trade and
Industry was strengthened and intensified including its
programs.
The Negosyo Center aims to bring the services of the
national government to the localities to promote ease of
doing business through facilitating the processing of
business documents of micro, small, medium enterprises or
MSMEs. This is in line with the GO NEGOSYO ACT or the
Republic Act No. 10644 that mandates the establishment of
business centers in accessible locations to be able to help
entrepreneurs or would-be businessmen grow their
businesses and seeks to strengthen MSMEs to create more

Outstanding Filipino Entrepreneurs
Every year, outstanding entrepreneurs across the country are brought together
to recognize outstanding Filipino entrepreneurs who work with relentless
determination and purpose. They are individuals who thrive in the age of
disruption and lead enterprises that can inspire and empower communities and
uplift the nation.
The Entrepreneur of the Year Awards was founded in the United States by
professional services firm Ernst & Young (EY) in 1986 to recognize the
achievements of successful and innovative entrepreneurs worldwide. In 2001, EY
expanded the program and launched the World Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
Meanwhile, in 2003, the SGV Foundation Inc. established the Entrepreneur of the
Year in the Philippines with the participation of co-presenters Department of
Trade and Industry, the Philippine Business for Social Progress, and the Philippine
Stock Exchange.
Since its launch in 2003, Entrepreneur of the Year Philippines has become one of
the most prestigious awards programs in the local business community. In 2019,
SGV Foundation, Inc. identified and recognized 15 outstanding entrepreneurs
from diverse industries throughout the country.
