• Study of mathematical challenges and strategies is crucial for
students’ cognitive development
• Study highlights the importance of Strategic Teaching Method
• Addressing diverse learning needs of students through
- tailored challenges
- supportive strategies
• Integrating real-world applications
• Educators to employ diverse instructional strategies including
collaborative learning and the use of technology.
nceptual framework
Math anxiety refers to feelings people get when facing computational challenges. The fear of failure
often causes people to avoid activities, like taking challenging mathematics courses or choosing
majors that require mathematics. Grit describes how people persist or persevere in the wake of
failure. (Ogden, L., Darrah, M., & Leppma, M. (2023).
Hands-On Practice Manipulative Materials: Research indicates that using manipulatives
significantly improves student achievement in mathematics, as they allow learners to visualize and
physically engage with abstract concepts(Pantolla, 2016).
Collaborative Projects Cooperative Learning: This strategy enhances teamwork and
communication skills among students, leading to improved mathematical understanding and
motivation(Aryal, 2024)(Zabala-Vargas et al., 2022).
Game-Based Learning Digital and Non-Digital Games: Game-based learning has been shown to
engage students effectively, with both digital and non-digital formats enhancing motivation and
enjoyment in learning mathematics(Debrenti, 2024)
Critical Thinking (CT) has been recognized as one of the most important thinking skills and one of
the most important indicators of student learning quality. In order to develop successful critical
thinkers, CT must be incorporated into the curriculum content and teaching approaches and
sequenced at all grade levels. This research provides a systematic review of the extant literature on
teaching CT skills. (Alsaleh, 2020)
