Procedure
This lesson covers the three phases of data collection for
quantitative research. It will help you plan your data
gathering process effectively.

Quantitative Data Overview
Definition
Quantitative data is measurable information in numerical form.

Qualitative to Quantitative
Some qualitative data can be quantified by assigning numerical
values.

Example
Student adjustment experiences can be categorized and
numbered for analysis.
Observation Technique
1 Direct Observation
Researcher records information using their senses.

2 Indirect Observation
Uses gadgets or apparatus to gather data.

3 Observation Checklist
Aids in recording gathered data systematically.
Survey Technique
Questionnaire Interview Response Types
