LOGIC GATE SYMBOLS
 Logic gates are the basic building blocks of any digital
system. It is an electronic circuit having one or more
What are than one input and only one output. The relationship
between the input and the output is based on a certain
logic gates? logic. Based on this, logic gates are named as AND gate,
OR gate, NOT gate etc.
 There are seven basic logic gates: AND,
OR, XOR, NOT, NAND, NOR, and
Types of Logic XNOR.(FACT) The AND gate is named
Gates so because, if 0 is called "false" and 1 is
called "true," the gate acts in the same
way as the logical "and" operator.
AND gate
An AND gate is an electrical circuit that
combines two signals so that the output is on if
AND both signals are present. ... An AND gate is an
GATE electrical circuit that combines two signals so
that the output is on if both signals are present.
OR gate
An OR gate is a digital logic gate that gives an
output of 1 when any of its inputs are 1,
otherwise 0. An OR gate performs like two
OR switches in parallel supplying a light, so that
GATE when either of the switches is closed the light is
on.
XOR gate
XOR is an abbreviation for “Exclusively-OR.”
The simplest XOR gate is a two-input digital
circuit that outputs a logical “1” if the two input
XOR values differ, i.e., its output is a logical “1” if
GATE either of its inputs are 1, but not at the same time
(exclusively).
NOT gate
The NOT gate is an electronic circuit that
produces an inverted version of the input at
its output. It is also known as an inverter. If the
NOT input variable is A, the inverted output is known
GATE as NOT A. This is also shown as A', or A with a
bar over the top, as shown at the outputs.
NAND
gate
A NAND gate is a digital combination logic
circuit that performs the logical inverse of an
AND gate. While an AND gate outputs a logical
NAND “1” only if both inputs are logical “1,” a NAND
GATE gate outputs a logical “0” for this same
combination of inputs.
NOR gate
A NOR gate is a digital logic gate that gives an
output of 0 when any of its inputs are 1,
NOR otherwise 1. ... A NOR gate is a digital logic gate
GATE that gives an output of 0 when any of its inputs
are 1, otherwise 1.
XNOR
gate
An XNOR gate (sometimes referred to by its
extended name, Exclusive NOR gate) is a digital
logic gate with two or more inputs and one
XNOR output that performs logical equality. The
GATE output of an XNOR gate is true when all of its
inputs are true or when all of its inputs are false.
