The Incense Praise
炉香乍热
The censer’s incense is lit
法界蒙薰
Its scent permeating the dharma realm
诸佛海会悉遥闻
Innumerable Buddhas from afar sense the fragrance
随处结祥云
Everywhere, auspicious clouds of scent gather
诚意方殷
With our hearts pious and sincere
诸佛现全身
All the Buddhas manifest

Sutra Opening Verse
无上甚深微妙法
The Dharma is deep and profound
百千万劫难遭遇
Rare is the opportunity to encounter it
我今见闻得受持
Now that I have the chance to learn and practice it
愿解如来真实义
I vow to realize its true meaning

Praise to the Buddha
如来出世大因缘
The Buddha came to this world for a great cause
开示悟入佛知见
To open living beings’ eyes to his enlightened knowledge and
润渍苍生济人间
nourishing their lives and helping all beings.
宏誓度化遍大千
His great vow aims to deliver all in the universe.
宇宙大觉者
To the Great Enlightened One of the universe,
我们衷心礼讚
we offer our most sincere praise
人天大导师
To the Great Teacher of human and heavenly beings,
我们衷心礼讚
we offer our most sincere praise
娑婆大医王
To the Great Healer of our world,
我们衷心礼讚
we offer our most sincere praise
渡众大船师
To the Great Steersman who delivers all,
我们衷心礼讚

众生无量法无量
There are infinite living beings,

so the Buddha expounded infinite teachings
慈悲喜捨度无边
Through his loving-kindness, compassion,

joy and equanimity, infinite beings are delivered

Praise of the Buddha
天上天下無如佛

世間所有我盡見
Of all I have seen in the world,
一切無有如佛者
There is nothing at all that is like the Buddha

悲智法水淨塵埃
五濁眾生令離垢
